In the sub compact crossover market you have plenty of options to choose from, including the Honda HR-V, Toyota CH-R, Mazda CX-30, and Subaru Crosstrek, however one of the reasons why Americans find these vehicles unappealing is due to driving dynamics. These crossovers just aren't that fun to own, and don't provide the refinement that we see in more expensive vehicles. Don't forget the drive assist! That button with the steering wheel logo on the steering wheel will guide the driver though roads such as highways and line marked roads autonomously. The thing steers through corners too. Watching the steering wheel turn by itself at this price point is insanely impressive.

Just took delivery of 2022 Limited AWD and WOW! Incredible vehicle! Love driving it. Lots of very useful and easy to use tech. Roomy inside for front passengers, ok for rear. Good storage and good price. Car set will easily fit in back. I am 6'1" and I can easily fit in back with ok knee room. Great product Hyundai! Just get more here, lots are EMPTY!

Grandparent here. One thing you might add is the length of the vehicle. I live in a city where parking is extremely challenging. I was excited to see it’s only 165 inches long making parallel parking a bit easier. Although your review is aimed at younger people who don’t need this, I would like to see how easy it is to get in and out of. It’s almost impossible for me with my son’s MINI. One question: can a car seat fit the back? Altogether this was extremely helpful.

A Kona is considerably smaller than a Tiguan... the Hyundai competitor for the Tiguan is the Tucson.

Excellent presentation The only thing it needs is rear air vents as the Kia seltos.i like both but need air vents.

Excellent presentation Can l get a panaromic roof or a dual sun roof. Also need air vents in rear. . otherwise very 👍.

I think chances are good we might see that for 2023. Im guessing it will come with the Elantra hybrid drivetrain with a slightly more powerful Electric motor, but add AWD. The Kona is heavier than the Elantra and will need the extra power especially with AWD.

Considering the Tucson engine bay is pretty packed with those two engines, im not sure both would fit in the much smaller Kona.

Great review. Thank you. BTW, assuming cargo space is not a concern, would you recommend the Kona over a Mazda CX-30. You seem to be leaning toward the Kona. Is that a fair assessment?

I own a 2021 Kona and love it!! My sister in law has the Mazda cx30 and I love that vehicle also. To be honest what sold me was the huge warranty and lower price. Kona is definitely not as luxurious (soft touch interior) and feels a bit cheap compared to the Mazda. Still think the Kona was a great choice for me!!

Excellent and honest review!!! We really wanted to get a 2022 Tucson SEL with the Convenience Package. However, because they are in such short supply and are selling for thousands over MSRP, the Kona Limited and N-line are now at the top of our list.

I shopped for the 2020 for my mother and she went with the ultimate and that car is a baby beast. My suv is off lease this month and I'm considering this 2022 over the N Line because I heard that it will only come in front wheel drive. I live in the north east and I like having an all wheel drive vehicle in case we get snow. Thanks for the good content you put out.

I drive a 2019 Kona Limited FWD and so far, I'm very impressed with the 2022 updated Kona. Yes, I'm looking for another Limited FWD when my current lease ends in November (2021). It appears that since Hyundai dropped the Kona Ultimate, the Navigation system was added to the Limited. Where's the Pop-up display? Did Hyundai drop that feature from the Kona? Either way, I'm getting another Limited as I love my leather seats with power driver settings, something the 2.0 liter versions do not offer. Plus, I want all the electronic bells and whistles. I could care less about navigation (Google Maps when using Android Auto is sufficient), but the other safety features are a must for me. Unlike the "young, urban buyer", I'm going on 62 years old and prefer the step up into a vehicle feeling of my Kona over the last 3 Elantras that I've driven in the past decade and a half. Thanks for a very detailed video tour of this car!!

I am thinking of buying the Kona in Australia and it now has CVT . Is there anything wrong with CVT ? I don't know much about gear boxes but I have heard other reviewers comment they wish it did not have CVT. Thanks.

So many car reviewers are pro turbo and anti cvt. But 90% of buyers looking for first car ever or second vehicle for around town or little family car, would most people need a turbo and double clutch? Acceleration just need to be appropriate to be safe and reliability should be king / above all other needs.

The only engine problem was the Theta engine... which is no longer in production and no longer put in new cars (hasn't been used for many years now)... current Hyundai engines are just fine.

From your review i get feedback that performance isnt a pros for this vehicle. I should except that a car of this size with 196hp would be characterized at list as "nippy". i was always wondering how come in a country like yours with so strict driving rules, horsepower is so inportant issue?

You should 1st mention if it is the Limited trim of EV or Gas model ?

The front fascia with the gloss black grille and plastic cladding is a clear giveaway that this isn't an EV. Also EV models are designated as Kona Electric, so the title would have been Kona Electric Limited Review.

We just bought a Limited and it did not come with a spare. That's a pay for option.

Turbo engine + dual clutch transmission = reliability nightmare! I'd only get the naturally aspirated engine (and live with the CVT) if I get the Kona.
