The Iowa City runner in red, who placed 9th, was DQ'd and banned from all other events in that meet. The fallen runner, who got up and finished the race, was granted a restart and his time earned him third place.

The fallen runner should be penalized as well. He pushed/threw an elbow

Guy who fell kinda had it coming. Wtf was that lean in to the inside? Other guy would’ve fallen off the track if he didn’t push back. He clearly didn’t have space to move in yet. Of course the punch should not have happened, but a push is more than justified
@tynao20292 жыл бұрын
use your brain if you have one. Knowing what kind of a person the red runner is (as we now know to be true) do you really think there wasn't something before that he did to start it? Again, try to use your brain. You have one (or at least you should)

@@tynao2029 I was just going off what was in the video rather than making assumptions. Even if the other guy was being rude earlier, it doesn’t change my assessment of this engagement. No need to be rude over a KZfaq comment

I have never seen a better dive in a track race.

The runner in black was doing some unecessary bumping into the runner in the inside, whom had the right of way. It seems obvious he flopped after getting bumped back.

Both DQ in my opinion guy in black infringed on the guy in red and the guy in red said not on my watch and took a swing

Based on this short clip, it appears that the runner who fell did some acting and embellishing in his tumble.

I find it kinda doubtful because typically people try everything they can to stay upright

I think the actor who fell is related to Neymar istg

Yeah, but what you do if you were on the inside of the lane and someone was trying to push you off the track in your most important meet of the year!?! I think you would naturally protect yourself from not being pushed off the track!

@@alexdavis4857 I clearly do sir. I have been competing for a very long time and know exactly what is happening here. Please don't try to correct the obvious. The person going around the corner is leaning way over, forcing the other competitor to lean in the opposite direction otherwise he would have easily stumbled off the track. Unfortunately the one trying to force the other off the track kept persisting in his effort which led to the retaliation that took place. There should have never been a punch thrown. That is extremely unfortunate. I have had a bone in my foot broken in cross country because of such aggressive tactics. So sir, I clearly do understand what is happening!

@@alexdavis4857 That is great that you were there to see this in person because that is important. I have watched the segments frame by frame and am witnessing the runner who got hit bumping into the other runner (knocking him) and then crowding him. The other runner who throws the punch straightens up as to suggest he was trying to keep his balance while every other runner is leaning as you would going into or finishing a turn. The runner who got hit is leaning over way more than the others and into the body of the runner who threw the punch. It all happens so fast until you make things out frame by frame
@jefferymendenhall82972 жыл бұрын
In fact, the foot of the athlete who threw the punch stepped on the guardrail after being pushed, so he technically got pushed off the track. If that was a metal rail he would have tripped over it.

Respectfully, when watching this clip and when I viewed it in person it did appear that the runner from Dowling did do a little bit of acting and could have fell down on purpose. Not saying this is definitely the case but I would say a good possibility.
