There is a large subwoofer speaker behind each seat. Modern sport cars typically have larger rims with a smaller wheel height. The F-type R comes with 20" factory wheel rims. The lower priced models come standard with 19" that is less jarring. Miss the days of the 15" wheels with 6" tread height! Much more comfy.

Doubt you got a lemon in regards to the radio. I’ve read that the base system in earlier cars is super underwhelming like you are suggesting, and the upgraded Meridian surround option on those earlier cars was not much better. From what I’ve read, however, there have been improvements by Jaguar to the base Meridian sound system in the new generation car…and possibly the surround version as well…That is what jag forums are saying…

@@dlj1285 That sounds reasonable and is likely the case. I'm still deciding whether to keep it. Since that comment I made, we had an unexpected addition to our family; he'll be 3 months old in a few days. Now we have two children, and a two-seater vehicle is even tougher to justify. Just finding time to drive it before the battery goes dead is problematic. If I do somehow find the time and the will to keep it, I'll definitely invest in some aftermarket speakers, maybe a stealth box for a little more thump. Nothing crazy. Thanks for the feedback!

@@keyser456 Oh yeah, can appreciate that…I have kids myself, but I’m a little further along the path than you are…they’re older, I have a bit more time on my hands etc…You will be busy for sure…That said, these cars are going away as you know…Something to consider before offloading, and the prediction is that cars like these will be going up in value as the EV market takes hold…classic human nature…people want what they can’t have…At your phase I could not have afforded a car like this anyway myself, as money was going many other places…Fortunately now I can justify a purchase like this…Just in time before they go extinct ;-o

​@@dlj1285 Good points. Our first kid is nine. We thought we were done having kids (I'm 45), otherwise I never would have pulled the trigger on the R. We inherited a bit of money after my mother-in-law passed after a horrific 4 month downward medical spiral that traumatized our family. We were still going to have a significant money buffer after the purchase (outright, since it was used and out of warranty), so I bought something naughty and totally self-indulgent. Further complicating things, I have a '00 WS6 M6 already occupying our 3rd garage bay, my baby from my early twenties, so I'm kind of hoarding the garage with daddy's toys. They're both collectibles in their own rights. The F-body ended in 2002, Pontiac ended in 2009 or so. It's low miles for how old it is (85k), I could sell it for close to what I paid for it in 2001. I have many many years and miles of history and memories with the WS6. If we had a bigger garage, I could maybe justify keeping both. The R is superior in every way (just ran 12.1 @ 118mph at the track, bone stock). I know they're also the end of an era. I have a tough choice to make. When that decision is made my poor truck can finally reclaim its position in our garage after spending over a year outside in the elements. I work from home so I struggle to drive all of the vehicles enough just to keep the battery charged. I suppose not having the opportunity to drive them is an argument against keeping them as well. It really kind of is "hoarding" at this point, or is that nature of car collecting?

@@WTFCRLT1 Thank you! I am having trouble deciding on the exterior and interior color combinations. I really like British Racing Green with Black/Tan interior but I also like Eiger Gray exterior with the exact same interior as in your video. Can I get your opinion on what would look better? BRG would look really good but there is stigma associated with green color in cars being unlucky (I drive a BRG car now and I can attest to that lol). Another option that I am considering is Silicon Silver with Black/Tan interior. It is so hard to chose on a car that is so perfect in every way.

I don’t blame you haha that Eiger Gray was beautiful plus a good tune for the P450 will have it keeping up with an R for over $20k less! The tune might effect the warranty tho so if that’s the route you plan on taking, the R might make more sense since it gets a very solid warranty plus I believe 4 or 5 years of complimentary maintenance which I wouldn’t personally wanna mess around with since both cars are still very pricey.

Right, for $1200 including an easy 2 hr DIY crank pulley change (6 bolts very accessible on wheel ramps) you can conservatively dyno 100 more hp. For $250 more you can add VAPs new diamond textured smaller SC pulley to add another 30 hp. That’s real HP, through more torque starting at 1 RPM, not a useless redline increase.

R gets a few nicer cosmetic bits as well inside and out, but this clearly is not making up for the huge difference in price.

If you like blue collar tacky go c8. If you like class go Jag. That said, the Z06 solves the proportions problem of the base C8 car, and damn that engine in it is baller.

Way faster than an Aston.
