I have the good fortune of owning a GT EV6. I have been struggling to learn the features of this car by reading the owner’s manual. Clearly the owner’s manual is written by someone with English as a second language. Your video is better than the owner’s manual! Thank you for your clear demonstrations but I will watch your videos several times to absorb the knowledge it offers. You’re so good at this that I’m surprised Kia has not officially endorsed your video as a quick start for new owners.

Best video on the EV6 ever. I have to agree. Now, it took me 3 days to get through it because I'm watching at my desk and trying to absorb the information. I have to give you mad props for this video. I'm going to review it again I'm sure, but I want to thank you for taking the time to show aspects of the car, I'm fairly certain, even the dealer won't even know. As an aside, and I suspect you already know, at the 40:00 spot, if you press and hold that fan display, you'll get the option to determine which menu is the primary, climate or music. If you tend to want to adjust the volume more than changing the temps, set the volume as primary display and if you are done on the other menu, it will flip back to your primary. Thanks again. Just picked up my EV6 GT L1 two days ago and love the HDA. I drove down to downtown Toronto in heavy traffic and barely had to do anything. Just set it sit there listening to music and podcasts.

Excellent, thorough review/tutorial on the EV6. I have a Yacht Blue GTLine AWD. In the States that gets you the Homelink buttons on the rear view mirror. However, we do not get a cargo cover or charging cable. You can buy drop-in organizers for the center console which makes it *much* more useful. Love the car, though I wish the range was a little closer to advertised without the need to drive like a nun.

Absolutely the best overview I've seen on the KIA EV6-GT Line. My wife and I were debating as to whether we should go ahead with the decision to purchase. Your video made the decision for us! We're ordering the optional "white" color. Also, a quick heads up for those that have the "Matt Grey" color, we were informed by the dealer here in Oregon that you cannot take that EV6 to a car wash that uses brushes. Evidentially, they can scratch the surface. Also, wow...the dealer markups in addition to charging full MSRP. Here on the West Coast, the average additional cost is $5,000 over the sticker price. Ouch...but the popularity and scarcity of the car is dictating and justifying the price. Still, with a $7,500 Fed and $2,500 Oregon rebate, it softens the wallet bang (a little)! Again, great video and a sincere thanks. Jack in Central Oregon.

I love the rakish facade! KIA would be my next car. The insurance is pretty lower than other brands. They have one of the lowest problems to occur during the ownership. My former family BMW was stalled on a street and the engine was burning with smoke on my way home...gas guzzler. If i get similar performance in a electric car then awesome.

Excellent Vid. In particular the info on the speed limiter, which is missing on our 2022 Kia Stonic (ICE). :-( If I'm not happy with the Tesla Model Y I have on order (chinese build coming to Australia with LFP battery) then I'll be swapping to an EV6.

You have to keep the trunk open button pressed to close the trunk, not to open it. To open, you press and hold and then release once it starts opening.

Great review, I have an order in for 2023 EV6 GT Pk2 in Runway Red, hopefully it will add wireless CarPlay, integrated garage door opener (which is included with our 2019 SX touring Niro EV) and possibly other improvements in 2023. Fortunately in BC the EV6 qualifies for both the federal government $5,000 rebate and the provincial government $3,000 rebate.

If you hold the media/AC toggle area you will get the option to choose which you prefer to be persistent on the display. You can then push the button only when you need to toggle to the other set of controls.

Hey you're the first one I've seen talk about the charging speeds on the USB ports. 1. Does the front USB C also do the Super fast charging? 2. Does the front USB A port do regular fast charging, and/or charge while plugged in for android auto? Thanks!

When you're in drive assist mode and the car is going to switch lanes, the center screen shows green before switching lanes (at 48:11).... does it also do this if you're manually controlling the car and getting ready to switch lanes?

I brought one . In less than a week I had a problem charging AC . I could only charge DC . I took it back to the Kia dealership , they have had the car for over 2 weeks and still not fixed

How did you get the headlight to do that?

Great details and tips but you forgot to mention the Genesis also has a lot of the same features (and then some) of the ev6...including blindspot monitoring. It's Hyundai's premium brand, and they share the same platform....Protip- you can set a default for the climate/radio controls...if you hold the arrow down to switch radio/climate controls for a few seconds it should give you an option to set the default to either radio or climate, which means that if you set it to climate the next time you are on radio controls it ill switch to climate controls after a few seconds without you having to touch it....this is convenient since people will use that and then use the radio control on the steering wheel instead and that way they don't have to switch back and forth.

Your lucky even to get a non tsla EV . Most EV’s can’t get produced due to material and production limitations. The waiting period is 2 years. Ordered mine 6 months ago and I won’t get it this year.

well, you paid a lot. Mine is also a GT-Line AWD with features you are missing and was only 60125 after tax. I haven't got the rebate in the US yet but it's 7500 so the car would be a little over 53K including that.

I'm waiting for min in agony :-( I ordered back in October, with delivery in May. But a few weeks before delivery they told me they had to push it back to ultimo December - possibly January :-( My old car got totaled, so I bought a "temporary" 20 year old Swift to get me around......and it's probably the worst pile of junk I ever drove.

i really dislike those door handles(EV cars) its so unreliable in case of a crash it needs "POWER" to pop out if there's NO POWER it will not pop out like that case on a crash tesla with a drunk doctor/atty i forgot

Great video. Interesting that the vehicle costed more than my Tesla Model Y Performance out the door. The black piano plastic in the Kia is a scratch magnet so something to watch out for. Funny how a Chevy Malibu and Honda Civic was wireless Apple CarPlay and android auto, but in the most advance Kia ever you still need to use a cable. The fact that a key fob is needed and you can just use your cellphone is another bummer. It means that Kia outsourced the development of the software for the vehicle it was not done in house. Didn’t see any usage of voice commands so I assume Kia does not have good software in this vehicle. I use voice commands for everything in my Tesla so I don’t have the use the center screen. Too many buttons in the vehicle which is indicative of legacy automakers inability to develop good software that eliminates the need for so many buttons. Because this vehicle was not designed as an ev from the ground up is has a lot of short comings. It’s a car where the ICE. Was swapped for batteries. I am sure Kia will improve their design over time and hope they can get the costs down. I would not pay what they are asking as their are much better options at that price point. The single motor version is a better value for the money.
