The Kia EV6 competes with over 30 other Electric Vehicles in the market today. There is a lot of competition and the jury is still out on EV's being able to tackle a few issues for Canadian drivers. This is where the Kia EV6 enters stage left because Kia understands their drivers and have developed a vehicle that address's all the issues while still creating a remarkable interior and eye-catching exterior. This week Brad and Jared talk way too much about the Kia EV6 and should just shut up and let you decide for yourself. However, they do ask the right questions about price, range, charge time and how it handles in the winter. Rock on Brad! Here in the states, there is a push for electric vehicles. I am a fan, with the understanding of the four concerns you focused on. I keep asking our elected representatives, “If they really suppor electric vehicle movement, why are they (the government) putting in charging stations at each rest area along the highway system?” No one gives a great answer. Cost, electricity is cheaper than gas… should balance out. Range for 99% trips is not really an issue. Charge time, again, 99% of the time should not be too much of an issue. Cold weather, no matter what you loose 25% of the range. Electric vehicles are great commuter vehicles. I am just not sold yet…. Except for the Aptera Electric Vehilce out of San Diego CA. Have 250, 400, 600, and 1000 mile range vehicles with 40 miles of solar panel gain. The EV 6 is a great vehicle. Love you two and the videos you put together! Keep them coming!

Jim, Thanks for watching this one and giving your insight. It’s nice to hear viewers bringing up issues. There are a lot of people out there who are not sold on EV’s yet for many reasons. Although it’s a growing segment, it’s a far reach from the majority of the population. Once it really starts to take off, our new concern would be the amount of charging stations and the upkeep/maintenance of them. The next 20 years will be interesting to say the least. :)

Really seems like an awesome car! I personally prefer the look of the EV6 vs Ionic 5 - when I see one on the road it nearly inspires an "oooh & ahhh" while the I5 I just think "neat"

There is something to be said about the EV6 design. But as good as the exterior is, the interior is even better. It too deserves and oooh as well as an ahhh. Really well done. Thanks for watching.

I like the the look of the Ionic 5 on KZfaq, but it seems less impressive in person for some reason. I love pickles!

This was a solid review. As an EV6 owner, I thought you guys did an excellent job at capturing all the strengths and limitations of the car. You really hit the nail on the head regarding the interior of this car vs the ioniq5. One thing that really surprised me about owning an EV is that they get better mileage in the city than on the highway. In the summer, I can easily get 500km out of my AWD GT-Line around town. On the highway, it is closer to 400km. I’m guessing that this is due to aero and the fact that regenerative braking can recapture so much energy. One of the interesting things about winter driving is that I tend to turn the regenerative braking down when the roads are icy. I personally find that this has a pretty bigger impact on the range than the cold temperature on the battery. Thanks again for the excellent review of the EV6.

Thank YOU for the massive compliment. It’s nice to hear feedback from people who are actually driving these vehicles daily. You make a very interesting point about city and hiway driving. Seems backwards from the norm, but obviously with regenerative braking, the scales tip a bit. Stay tuned because we are taking another look at the ID.4 soon and seeing what the 2023 offers. Great video! EVs are something I'm passionate about and I think you have them a very fair take. I would point out that charge time does increase as temperature decreases so that 5 minute/120km change time is only really applicable during the summer. Another point that often goes overlooked by many is just how much less maintenance there is on an EV. Brakes, tires, and inspections and that's about it. Sure beats the ICE maintenance cycle. Overall, for Canada I would say that an EV would make a great second vehicle for a family but I think I'm going to get a PHEV as my next primary vehicle. Great video guys! I agree with Brad that I like the EV6 interior and the Ionic 5 exterior.

Nice car, but I want to see someone go 90Km in this thing in the middle of winter when it's -35C everyday for a week, on a snow covered highway and let me know how it performs!

That would be a fantastic real world approach and would be a massive help to anyone living in colder climates. We would love to try something like that but we only have these vehicles for a certain amount of time. Maybe one day we will be able to try that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Infrastructure and charging networks Sucks and most are a rip off. Charge $ for time on the plug, not energy delivered. That’s my biggest peeve.

@@HoodSlappersOfficial oh I’m keeping my order. My old choice of the iD4 isn’t available here where I live, even to look at configuring one. But it had big problems with the computer system too anyway. Kia has built the first dealership that can support EVs. So they get my business. Plus it’s a great car to drive, also as a 2m tall guy I can fit and according to all you car guys.🙂
