I bought a RE 3700 850 for my wife and daugthers, they wanted something fun and something easier to ride than my Lynx Commander. It’s a blast:)

Great vid bro, been debating on moving from my axys to a lynx. Rode a freeride and actually didn't mind it, never got to jump it, but I felt comfortable on it.

Thank You! I’ve ridden mostly Ski Doo but last season I got a Lynx in a 154 and a Gen 4 Expert Turbo 165 with the 34” front end. I ended up selling the Lynx to a buddy that had his Polaris blow up on him. If you put ski doo skis on the Lynx it’s an awesome sled rides as similar to a Polaris as you can get. The wide skis that come with the Lynx can become a little too much when side hilling over old tracks and become huge rudders when in deep fresh snow. Another buddy of mine came from a Polaris said “it feels like if Ski Doo and Polaris made a sled together”. Currently I’m riding a Ski Doo Gen 5 Expert turbo 154 and with the ridged skid it definitely holds a line much better than the sleds with T-motion and the power out of the new turbo is insane! I don’t have a ton of time riding Polaris but they seem to be narrowing the gap between each other. I really need to get back to making videos. It’s just super time consuming. Thanks for watching!!!!

Yeah I actually like this design a little better after thinking about it. Remove 4 bolts and it’s off. Plus it’s way smaller to store when removed.

Why do u think it would have been done easier with a doo? Just curious, I personally own a 2020 boondocker DS 3900.
@BTHAlaska
@BTHAlaska 3 жыл бұрын
I think the Summit would have done it easier just because the Summit is lighter, more maneuverable, and has the option of the 3” track. I ordered a Boondocker 3900 DS and plan on swapping the track out with a 3” and swap the skis for skinnier Summit skis just to see how it feels. Should be a fun season to play around with the Boondocker.

Yeah i see the Lynx is a little bit heavier. But not by much, and as u said thats cause its sturdier. Lynx basicly stands for durability lol. But i think People doubt the lynx, from my experience it keeps up with the doo's really well. And i think it wouldnt have been much easier for the summit to go there. Also i dont agree with u regarding where this sled exels. This sleed is built for deep snow and from my experience for that it works great. In my opinion its a pretty alround sled thats handles most things very well even though its build for deep snow. I think the reason the doo's feel lighter and easier to manuever is that t motion rear skid. Personally i think i prefer a rigid skid just because i feel like its more predictable and doesnt wash out as quickly when sidehilling steep. The skis, are big and that can be a disadvantage sometimes. But it would be interesting to see how a different Ski would change the feel of sled. Regarding Tracks, here in Sweden we get to choose between 2,5 and 3 inch from factory. Mine is a 3 inch and the traction is awesome. But reviewers in Sweden said that the 2,5 inch would climb better, cause less traction gives less Ski rise and when climbing steep you dont want ski rise... But then you can adjust the limiter strap so i idk. And regarding your nitpicking... I mean cmon man the Seats, its a mountain sled ur not meant to sit much lol. As a mountain rider all you care is having a seat thats out of the way. A seat that allows u to move around whitout barriers. And the "snowflap" which I Personally havent noticed its there, is easy to remove and thats what the more extreme riders usually do. Anyways, glad to see that u ordered one. Dropped a sub cause im excited to see ur project in the future! Hope Lynx continue to grow in America. They have many other sled models such as boondocker re that i would love too see u guys get in America.

@@Liam-uc9xk I would completely agree that people, especially in North America, doubt what the Lynx can do. It’s all new to us so we are trying to figure out where this sled fits in our line up. With how many options we have to pick from it’s really hard to choose and is like splitting hairs most of the time. That’s good to hear that the Lynx keeps up with the Ski Doos in the mountains. I know that there are many people that didn’t spring check a Boondocker because they were worried about being out done by their buddies on Doos. Haha The rigid skid is new to me and coming from a Summit it took me a little while to get the feel of it. Just in the one day that I was able to ride it, after I got the feel of it, I felt like I knew exactly what the sled was going to do and it moved with me rather than against me in some situations. As for the track and the type of snow we have in Alaska during the season the 3” would be better. We get light fluffy snow so the 3” doesn’t hook up as easily and bring the skis up. Now in the spring when the snow is wet and sticky or just packed down the 2.5” track would be the way to go. So I might be swapping back and forth. Lol We will see. I knew someone would call me out about the seat. Haha I completely understand mountain riders don’t care about the seat but I thought it was just something to talk about since most people haven’t been on a Boondocker yet. After looking at the snow flap I actually like the design better than the Doos. I can ride trails all day and with 4 bolts remove it when I get the the riding zone and it’s much smaller to store than the removable snow flap on the Summits. I’m not much of a mountain rider but next season that’s all I will be doing. It should make for some funny and interesting videos. Haha Like you said I feel like this is a great all around sled that will do almost anything pretty well from trails to the mountain. Personally I would have gotten the 3700 RE if it was available to us. Hopefully it will come to North America with time. Thank you for subscribing!!! It really helps out the channel. It should be a fun season full of learning what the Boondocker is all about. Cheers! 🍻

@@BTHAlaska Rave, that’s it! I didn’t know the name of it. I got to look and sit on what I guess was the Boondocker last spring when Team CC brought one down for display at the Mayor’s Cup race. I liked how it looked and felt sitting on it. I remember being surprised at how small of tubing they used on some of the rear skid components. I figured that sled used a lighter weight version of their PPS skid for mountain riding? I’m glad you mentioned the flap. I thought that was the dumbest thing ever but I never thought about how it would hinder backing up. Your video was very well done and so professional looking, nice job! 👍

@BTHAlaska 2 жыл бұрын
@@thatalaskaguy Yeah I was able to work with Team CC and spent a whole day riding it with the Ski Doo rep. I liked it so much I ordered one. Haha The Boondocker is heavier but with the wider and longer skis you don’t notice it much. The skid is where most of the extra weight comes from but it’s such a durable design it’s worth it. I’m not sure if they use a different skid for the trail sleds. I think it would be super cool to see an Iron Dog team with a pair of Lynx’s. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! 🙏 It takes a lot of time and effort to edit these videos as I’m sure you know.

@@BTHAlaska that’d have been a great experience to try it out before ordering. Team CC does my shocks and talking to them last spring it sounded like BRP was considering bringing in some 600 Rave’s for testing and possibly racing. I’d think they’d want to run it in the Iron Dog just for the exposure and publicity. I suspect they’ll want to thoroughly test them against the XRS so they don’t have an embarrassing failure during the race. I really like the design of the Lynx. The ride videos I’ve watched say lots of good things but I don’t put much faith in the sled media to provide an unbiased review. Heck, I just watched a sled head 24/7 video on the MY 11 bump sleds and they said the Yamaha Nytro had incredible handling. WTF? I had a Nytro and it was the worst handling snowmachine I’ve ever owned. Looking forward to watching more videos on your Lynx!

@@thatalaskaguy Oh that’s cool! Yeah I would think if Lynx prides themselves on being the most durable sleds around then they would try and enter some of these extreme races. Trying to get honesty out of people who get paid by the manufacturers they are reviewing is pretty difficult. Haha Thanks again for watching and subscribing!

Sorry for the late response sometimes KZfaq doesn’t send me notifications. I had a buddy weigh his 4100 so the 165 track (full fuel, full oil) and it came in at 562 pounds. Comparatively my ski doo summit x w/expert package came in at 570 pounds (full fuel, full oil). Hope this helps!

@@BTHAlaska They are. Just a little throttle input lifts the weight off the skis in the rutted trails letting the rear soak up the bumps making it way easier. It's far better than the XRS Renegade.

@@kertbert1 Thats impressive to say that it’s better than the Renegade XRS. I’ll have to get my hand on one there’s a race we go watch called the Iron Dog and there’s a bunch of trail riding we do so it would be a perfect time to time it out.
