Mike provides, perhaps, the most thorough, honest and factual Bow reviews on YT. When he gives an opinion, it’s thoughtful. I’ve also found his opinions to be accurate in the field. In a nutshell, he says when manufacturer’s are doing it right and when they’re doing it wrong. In turn, that saves me both time and money. As a consumer, I can’t ask for more than that.

This is the review I have been waiting for, due to such an honest review from from last years flagship bow. Just waiting for Hoyt’s answer to the new Matthew’s V3X in the same price range and your review!!!

I have this model, it is my second bow ever. I held out for 3 years shooting a PSE Uprising. I walked into the shop to shoot everything wanting to buy a VXR but KNOWING I was buying a Bowtech Solution. I put 2 dozen arrows through every top tier bow from everyone, even the carbon bows for 2022. I kept coming back to this V3X 29, the Solution and the EVO EVL. I liked the thickness of the Solution riser and feel of the grip, the EVO EVL was noticeably louder and the grip was a weird feel as well. The V3X was quieter then everything and completely dead in the hand with no stabilizers. All bows were shot with a whisker biscuit in the shop using my own release. Carried over my sight and my rest from my PSE and gave it to someone to get them into archery( it worked) I would like to buy the 33 as well, or get the Solution as it would make a great 3D bow, but this 29 is a perfect do it all bow for my 5'9" 27.5 draw frame. I pack it everywhere and fully kitted with front and rear bars and balanced out weights for shooting comps I am under 9 lbs. Hamskea Trinity, Trophy ridge H5 React, Tight Spot 5 shooting VAP RIP Elites and Easton Axis with Muzzy Trocar 125gr and Magnus Stinger Buzzcut 150gr. I have the Mathews stabilizers, but I can honestly say I think the Bee Stinger MicroHex are the best value bar on the market and why I switched over to them. Though the Mathews bars are amazing, they are pricey so if you can get them at a discount or especially used, get them. I am upgrading to the Dialed Archer Arxos this year to finish the bow off. possibly switching to the Mathews removable quiver as well as it is a bit more rigid and less vibration out of it.

Just getting started into archery. Father in law gave me his 2016 PSE Supra for me to train with and get better at it. Got it adjusted to my draw length and been enjoying it so much and been surrounding myself around the local Archery shops. I was able to shoot the demo V3X 29 and it is such an impressive bow. Much different draw cycle from my PSE, but felt like something I could easily get used to if I had more time with it. However I promised myself to keep training till I treat myself to a bow of that caliber. Awesome review! 🤙🏽

I think it's cool that they are trying to engineer easier ways to fix the bow without shop time or bench.

Mike I busted on you last time because you said you needed a bow press to change the draw modules. But I agreed that the V3 27 was a tough draw cycle BUT I was at 29.5” at 80%. My buddy has it at 27” at 85% and it made all the difference- really smoothed out the draw cycle. Glad they are 29 & 33 this year though. Hope you keep up the reviews

I never said you needed a press, I said you have to go to a dealer to get mods to be able to make the changes. But we take it all in stride! Can’t make everyone happy!

Switched from the 27 to the 29 because of the draw cycle and string angle. I loved the 27 and killed 6 deer with it but 29 is so smooth

having a string to nose issue.. the string is about half an inch in front of my nose and I can't seem to get my nose to touch the string... im guessing I need to shorten my draw length??

hey Mike , may I ask a question ?can I tune this Mathews with SAS only ?do I still need bowpress to tune the bow when I put new string and cables on it ?
@MikesArchery

You can use the SAS to change or twist strings and cables. Changing top hats would need a press.

Can I get your opinion on a v3x 29 vs an Evo xf 30 with evolve cam? Which bow would you say has a smoother draw cycle, which one seems more stable and forgiving. Thanks
@toddlymburner5783
@toddlymburner5783 2 жыл бұрын
Good honest review except I don’t think you understand what gives stability when shooting. It’s a 29 ata bow but it’s riser (which gives you the stability when shooting) is long! ATA measurement isn’t the best measurement for the purpose of the bow, a riser length is. This bow will shoot like most companies 32 inch ata.
@MikesArchery
@MikesArchery 2 жыл бұрын
I guess if you want to be more correct it’s neither and the over all length of the cams giving you a longer and easier string angle makes up for all that, this 29” ATA bow is the equivalent of shooting a 35” long bow which is why we included that spec that no one lists, and even more importantly is the reflex or deflex build of the riser which no mfg even lists any more and no one talks about but is more responsible for making a torque free, forging and shootable bow.
@toddlymburner5783
@toddlymburner5783 2 жыл бұрын
@@MikesArchery riser length makes the stability of the bow and aiming. Go check out target archers, riser length aids in reflex as well and vibration reduction. Mathews 29 does shoot like a 35 inch bow because of the riser length that’s why it’s more than a ground blind or stand bow. You being 6’2 would be better fitted with a 33 for sure. Your correct about the cams being important for string angle but the stability, the hold and aiming is all about that riser. Lots of different companies and different cams used in target archery, BUT they ALL have long risers. Hunters should take as much as they can from m target archery. As much as makes sense for hunting actually

How does the valley compare to the VXR28?
@MrMattiezaya2
@MrMattiezaya2 2 жыл бұрын
I see I'm a bit late,but I sold my vxr28 due to the lack of valley that bow was extremely jumpy and I hated it. With all that being said I've been shooting the v3x 33 & 29 both actually have a good valley 29 being a little better... Neither are jumpy at all. I almost ordered the 29 tonight but cannot make up my mind between this and the Elite EnVision 🤔

@@MrMattiezaya2 what is your opinion on the Elite Envision and which bow did you decide on?
@MrMattiezaya2
@MrMattiezaya2 2 жыл бұрын
I chose the V3X 29 simply because thats what I was able to get my hands on first, Elite was 8+ weeks away where as the Mathews was available in stock at my local shop, As my thoughts on the Elite simply a GREAT bow hands down honestly wish it would have been available fist but it wasn't, the draw is stiffer all the way though compared to the Mathews, Valley is slightly better but I was able to make the Valley exactly the same by getting 75# draw mods & cranking limb bolts out 2 full turns its now drawing 70# with that deep valley I look for, honestly both are great bows, Mathews is faster, better customer support & parts support, Elite has that deep valley out of the box most people like. I worry about elite long term part support. shoot both if they are available to you either way you will not regret it.
