My 2022 Silverado 3500 HD LT Midnight Edition has arrived and is in Need of DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid). I bought the DEF Fluid in the Jug, which can be bought at most. gas stations, auto parts stores and even places like Walmart or Home Depot. Hey Myk. Thanks for taking the time to do this video. My dealer delivered my 2022 Custom 2500 Duramax to me with only 1/2 tank of DEF as well. I don' t put on a lot of miles or do any towing so I'll be waiting until the DEF gets down to 1/4 tank or less and then only adding a 2.5 gallon jug at a time in order too prevent the DEF from going "stale". Have you thought about getting a Banks iDash monitor? You can track DPF soot load and command regens if desired. This would no doubt be good content for the channel.

Just got my 2022 2500 custom about 3 weeks ago. She ain’t got a lot of fancy things but she does the job. Nice truck by the way. I came from a 2020 F-150. Hard to find any 3/4 ton trucks in stock anywhere these days lol.

One thing that you may want to mention in a future video about getting DEF out of the pump is make sure that the pump has the nozzle door closed. As you mentioned oxidation plays a huge factor in the freshness of this stuff. I was told by a long time truck driver that he is more picky about where he gets his DEF fluid than where he buys his diesel.

2020 Duramax dually, 175,000 miles and only had blue def in it twice/ No issues so far

I would suggest if you haul frequently to fill up the Def, but daily driver with little to no hauling, should stay around half tank, refill when down to 1/4. No reason to fill it up, may go stale in the tank.

My friend is a truck driver he always told me not to get it from the pump. He say it only take one contaminated fill that will f'd up your day. He always buy his in bulk and fill it up.

@Myksgarage the def fluid is easily contaminated. For instance a pinch of salt can ruin 1000L of def

Most dealerships will give you 5gals so you can put it in when you need it it's part of your purchase and get ready deal

When I do my first oil change they will top it off again per gm and it's part of my free oil change. They told to be sure it's low to hold 5 gals

That's more frequently than I would expect. Do you just buy it at the pump?

My 2021 2500HD goes through a tank 3000-3500 with no trailering. About 2500 with my RV Trailer.

Does your wife have the 3.0 in her Yukon? And what year is it? How do you guys like it? Reliability wise?

Bro i use supertech in my King Ranch and i use Rotella T6 no problem so far
