I'd like to thank my cousin Travis for giving me his old and trusted Spearfishing Omer knife 20 years ago, it has saved my life more than once.
Spearfishing knife considerations 2022:
Blade: dispatching capabilities. Strength. anti corrosion. I like half serration. Waiting for M390 super steel.
Handle: visibility, ergonomics, and grip
Sheath: effective Retention, ease of use. I don't like a rubber retention rings on top of the knife. Too much effort.
Scuba Choice Scuba Diving Low Volume Free Dive Spearfishing 7.5" Stainless Point-Tip Knife $12 93cm. wrong shape. A pointy knife is much better.
Promate Point Tip Scuba Dive BC Knife (3" Blade) $25 79cm wrong shape. Holster screws not recessed. Leg straps and belt attachment points
Scuba Choice Scuba 10" Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Point-Tip Dive Knife with 2 Knife Straps $28 120cm. Leg only and too big for leg.
SALVIMAR Predathor Knife, Acid Green. $34 67cm. Belt only atttachment and rusts. Grip and ergonomics are not good
Spearfishing Low Volume Point-Tip Sharp Dive Knife. $34. Only for leg straps 109cm. Leg strap only and not good corrosion resisistant
Cresie grip spear knife 6.8". Nicest short knife $33 79cm
SEAQUANTUM Scuba Diving Knife with Two Pairs Quick Release Buckle... $20 87cm no metal spring. Creado has better ergonomics and blade thickness but this is 8cm longer.
Koah Dive Knife 4.5" with Magnetic Sheath for Spearfishing, Diving,... $60 110cm x 19
high viz handle. Inovative magnetic sheath. Grip is not textured and bad ergonomics.
Riffe EDC (Every Dive Carry) Spearfishing Knife - 4.5 INCH $64 107cm x 19cm
Great blade design and size. Good corrosion resistance. Grip is outstanding. Great retention and ease of use. Leg and belt strap capable.
