A lot of the best Pickleball players come from Tennis background, but Tennis habits can keep you from playing Pickleball as well as you might. My experience has been that people who come in form Tennis either do really well really quickly, if they learn a couple of new things, but never get all that good if they insist on playing Tennis on the Pickleball court. I expect Roger and Rafa are both smart enough to make that adjustment, and if they chose to focus on it, could be among the best fairly quickly. The guys I would really like to see play are Gale Monfils and Randall Brown. Their quick reflexes and acrobatic style would suit them well, I think.

@@ironchef182 Not sure if you're talking about Roger and Rafa or Gale and Randall. Either way, They might get near the top, or even AT the top, in time. But all the Tennis experience in the world won't make you a great Pickleball player unless you adapt. Those skills are useful, but by no means the whole game. It takes MUCH faster hands to play good Pickleball than needed for Tennis.

@@ironchef182 Just to clarify, if you think that the best tennis players will take over and become the best pickleball players I don't think that is necessarily true. Power is a major part of the tennis game, where you want to maximize the energy from your racket to the ball which can travel over 100 MPH. Pickleball balls have holes in them which reduces the speed and give players more time to react. Thus, sheer power does not have the same effect as tennis. I don't think #1 and 2 in the tennis world will become #1 and 2 in pickleball. You just don't need all those power in pickleball.

When the ball bounces in the kitchen you can step in that area as much as you want. She stepped in the non volley zone after it bounced which is ok to do. I think that's the moment you're referring to.

The ball had bounced in the kitchen before Jardim hit it, so no violation. But it does look like she's volleying when all she's doing is speeding the ball up.

you can be in the "kitchen" anytime during rally as long as you let the ball bounce first before you hit it, but if you are standing around in the " kitchen " your opponent can just hit the ball directly at you and you cant defend as you cant volley back, all you can do is try to duck

@@FirstThirdnotice the white zone on either side of the net called the "no volley zone" or "kitchen". Tennis doesn't have that so it totally changes the strategy. Plus the two-bounce rule prevents serve & volleying. It's a much more tactical game and the vibe is way more fun & social than tennis.
