This is my POV test drive of the 2022 Suzuki Vitara Hybrid. It’s a Full Hybrid with 115 HP and an automated 6-speed manual transmission. I test the car on national roads and on the countryside.

You were in my country...Belgium...Namur or Dinant region. Great test drive! Looks like the Vitara strong hybrid isn't as bad as some journalists say.

Ik ben altijd in België. 😉 Met de hybride aandrijflijn van de Vitara is zeker niets mis. Maar in het algemeen is de Vitara ondertussen wel verouderd tegenover de concurrentie.

Nice pov once again mate! That torque is only 135nm? Seems so low, is that the combined torque of the engine and elektromotor? And u filmed this in the Ardennen? Such nice surroundings 😄

Yeah, only 138 Nm. But I guess that's okay for this type of SUV. The Belgian presentation of the Hybrid Vitara and MG5 was on the same day close to the 'Ardennen'. Love driving there, speed limit is still 90 km/h on so many roads there. :D

I thought it moves from start solely on battery like most hybrids and hows the handling

How is the AGS. That’s some kind of automated manual, right? Is it at least smooth, I never had such good experiences with this kind of transmission in other brands.

Engine sounds interesting. Seems to be low powered on paper but gets up to speed with ease. How is that possible ?

Take Renault's Austral Full Hybrid as an example. There they claim that the car has 200hp, but in reality the patrol engine has 1200cc with a 3 cilinder engine with 130hp and the electric motor 67hp and 3 ghost horses. That car certainly needs that 130hp engine to climb over the hills because that is a big car. In places you will have to switch manually. That's where the mistake lies with Suzuki, they have a 1500cc petrol engine with far to little power to drive over the hills. This car would have 115hp, but how much hp does the petrol motor have and how much does the electric motor have? To move that thing!

It's definitely a solid SUV. If you don't mind the analog dials and the dated infotainment system, then sure go for it. It's practical and I'm sure it will be very reliabe as well.

I bought a car like this and drove it for 6 weeks. I have returned this car because it is not capable of going up long slopes.

Hey, what do you mean not capable of going up long slopes? It's weak, overheats, stalls or something else?

Suzuki have ruined the Vitara with this hybrid BS. Wouldn't have been so bad if they'd put a smaller turbo engine in it
