I’m 49 and I’d love to start learning piano, obviously I’ll need one. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Yamaha YPD-165 which isn’t listed in the video.

The kawai es920 is by far the best playing and best sounding under $2000. I have no issues going from my CA79 to the es920 in my smaller room. It is that good! Far better than the Yamaha, Roland and Casio I tried.

The Kawai KDP120 is now on sale for $1,395 - definitely the best value of the five shown here.

Thanks for this video! Trying to find a good entry-intermediate home digital piano and this has cleared up some things for me. Right now I'm leaning toward the Roland RP107 or the Kawai KDP120.

1° Kawaii, 2° Yamaha, 3° Roland, 4° Casio, 5° Artesia. Vou comprar o Yamaha Ydp145 que é a metade do preço do KDP120. Falo do Brasil.

I purchased the Yamaha YDP 145 and returned it after two weeks. The sound quality is good but it does not play very loud with fullness. I upgraded to the Yamaha YDP 165. This one sound is top notch and worth the extra money. You will not regret it.

Sorry, but I guess to better know what kind of e-piano is best, it is need to play Rachmaninov, Chopin or Beethoven at least 3-5 minutes each but not only pressing a few keys with long speech...

Concordo. Esses pianistas que analisam não costumam tocar repertório erudito. Os pianos ficam muito parecidos.

Roland has always been my favorite, but Casio is really rising to the top lately. Their tonal affiliation with C. Bechstein is what I’m after.

Why is the Kawai the only one that's presented in stereo, while the others are artificially monophonized? Not a fair comparison! The Kawai sounds (clearly) best, but that's due to being stereo.

Bought Yamaha Clavinova for my late wife 20 years ago..Big problem -the mother board blew up and $3500 beautifully cared for piano cannot be repaired as no spares available. Even emailed Yamaha to double check and same answer.

Motherboard likely can be repaired by an electronics specialist. Usually just bad capacitors or resistors

Why spend 3500 on a digital piano?
@kenoliver8913
@kenoliver8913 8 ай бұрын
@@Kinskiii $3500 is what a decent one cost 20 years ago - like all electronics they have since come down in price while improving in quality. Twenty years is not an unreasonable life. If you had bought an acoustic piano you would have spent more than $3500 on tuning over that period and would probably be due for a very expensive refelting and rebuild by now.

This video is only for beginner pianists who don't care or even know what a piano is supposed to sound like. But even beginners will be confused when playing a good acoustic after practicing on these "top 5". Confused because the decay rates of sound of these digitals are 5x faster, or are far to short to emulate an acoustic. The sustaining of notes on an average grand piano will be so long compared to these digitals you may not be able to play them.
@411DL
@411DL Жыл бұрын
Regarding decay rates, that's extremely true... of digital pianos of a couple generations back. With the current generation there's so much under-the-hood adjustment that can be done by downloading the app on the phone. The decay rate can be adjusted over time with the skill set of the player. Now, no digital will ever sound exactly like some 60K to 200K Steinway with the damper pedal down. It's no contest, but no cash strapped, space constrained beginner can afford or fit that in their life usually. So what's your proper path of learning for a beginner without access to an average grand piano?
