My 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro was part of the major recall that claims the truck is at risk for catching fire. Thanks to Tony Pereira, service director for Fred Haas Toyota Country, he was able to hook me up with this 2022 Toyota Tacoma with the TRD Off road package as a "temporary" replacement.

Just traded in my TRD Off Road Tacoma for an SR5 Tundra. I love the Tacoma's (I've had 5 of them), but you are correct, they are very small trucks and hard to haul you're family around. But for off road use they are amazing and easy to modify. You get what you pay for my friend. Tacoma and the Tundra are totally different trucks - pick your poison so to speak. Side note - I get the same mpg's on the highway, but the Tacoma get's a little better in the city. (Mine was stock as far as wheels and suspension)

I had a 2008 Tundra with 300k miles and finally decided to get a new truck. I did NOT want a Tacoma, I wanted a Tundra but the fact they do not offer V8s anymore sold me to the Tacoma. While it has less power, for daily driving I find the Tacoma to be plenty enough. As for hauling, well I only haul up to the Tacomas capacity. If I needed to do some very heavy lifting, I would've skipped midsize and full size altogether and gone to a diesel. For a practical daily driver, the Tacoma cannot be beaten. I loved my Tundra though, but sadly the turbo crap is the future.

Congrats on your Tundra! I have always had a soft spot for Tacomas. Primarily, it’s the reliability and great resale value that made me love it. If it wasn’t for the family aspect, I would have went through with the purchase of my Lunar Rock TRD Pro Tacoma in a manual 😎

Naturally aspirated motors will always be more reliable 👍. Sounds like you definitely optimized your Tundra and I am sure you’ll do the same if not more in your Tacoma 🙂🤙🏻
