2022+ Toyota Tundra Problems (Just Keeps Getting Worse)

I was waiting for the redesigned Tundra to replace my 07. Finally I got tired of the delays of the release and bought a 2020. I now feel fortunate. I researched and studied the new Tundra as it was released. I didn’t have a favorable opinion of Mike Sweers the Chief engineer now he’s been replaced and I think it would be a good idea for Toyota to do an immediate refresh and “try” to convince the consumer all these problems have been fixed.

I had a 2016 Tundra and traded it in for a 2019 4Runner at the end of 2019 due to high cost of fuel. I have been exploring a trade for the new Tundra and one day while i was getting maintenance at Toyota i pitched the idea to the service manager and he said to STAY AWAY from the new Tundra's & Tacoma. Well it turns out he was right!

Who are the engineers who worked on the new tundras and tacomas? Were they Americans as opposed to Japanese?

100k+ Recalled and Toyota Doesn’t have a FIX.. Toyota has Destroyed its Reputation and and Tundra.

I have a 2022 with 18k miles and the door/window seals have been replaced due to wind noise. I’ve also had to warranty both front seats for that trim cracking. Now dealing with the A/C vents being too loose and they flip up or down but won’t stay centered. Of course my truck is now under the engine recall… it’s one thing after another. I’m about to just ditch it for something else.

Glad I purchased a new 2021 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro employing that bulletproof naturally aspirated 5.7 liter V-8 and reliable 6 speed Aisan transmission
@yssha5342Ай бұрын
Cant out sell a v8. Can you imagine fixing cost whan the warranty runs out.

My 2016 Tundra is staying in my driveway! Sad because I was ready to buy a new Tundra for my retirement gift. No chance in hell now. I will just enjoy not having a payment for another couple of years or maybe switch brands. Nice job Toyota! What's next? Moving the Tundra factory to a 3rd world country too? Might as well based on the "quality" coming out of Texas these days. Adiós

I was just at the dealers...lots of Tundras sitting on the lot. Next to the Taco, can't see much difference. Let's just go back to the V8 and we'll pretend this didn't happen.

I've had no issues with my 2024 Tundra TRD Pro with 8500 miles. None of the flimsiness mention is this video has plagued my truck fortunately.

Give it time. That motor is junk. They didn't fix it in 24.
@nyyanksny03Ай бұрын
theyre saying that the issues is happening around 24k to 40k miles. make sure to pay attention. also, a lot of people are dumb. they’re waiting 10k miles for oil changes. i wouldnt with that type of motor. because like the other commentatora said, “those engines are not good”. Toyota just issued a recall 2 days ago. you may want to check.

@@JohnnyLightningV10 TRD Pro is a hybrid which is not affected.
@JohnnyLightningV10Ай бұрын
@user-et4yo4fm1n Ummm the Pro comes in both hybrid and 6 turbo motor option. Look it up. Also the hybrid system has a complex of electric motor system which is something that isn't proven for reliability by Toyota. Nice try

Love my 2018 Tundra, yes it sucks gas big time, I bought it for it's reliability
@G7130Ай бұрын
I have one and when another Tundra owner says -well ford has a lot of issues etc. my response is Ford sells a massive amount of trucks compared to Toyota. Let’s do some math, if both brands have to recall 100K vehicles that is then 95% of Tundras and less than what Ford sells in a single quarter.

I regret letting go of my 2020 Tundra, now I think I’ve decided to move away from my 2022 1794 but don’t know what’s a better truck out in the market. I research the rest and all of them have problems. May go back to a used 2020

I need to replace my truck but I refuse to buy these newer Tundra's.
@yardboy3955Ай бұрын
I’d just stay away from buying any truck for few years. I’d be upset if I owned a Tundra, because these problems would bother me everyday. I would stay away from the new Tacoma too, Just too much money to lose if it has problems too. These trucks need to prove their reliability again and thats going to take years to do. You know there’s more problems you haven’t seen yet. Looks like Toyota tried to save money, make big profits on their trucks and cheap is what you’re getting.
@mountainlife3650Ай бұрын
For real. Imagine 70k piece of shit truck. But the owners like the compliments they get about the truck at the gas station. "OH dude cool ipad touch screen"🤣🤣
@knightofelemia1567Ай бұрын
I was going to go Tundra for a half ton since I hate Ford's eco boost, not a GM fan, and I hate Dodge. If I could get a new half ton it would be a Titan but Nissan killed it in Canada. I am glad I avoided the Tundra that much money for a lemon hell no.

I believe Tacoma will still have the best resell value. Compare it to other turbo charged engines (GM & ford), I still go with the 24 Tacoma. It’s the best of the worst scenario. Nissan frontier, definitely better

Toyota seems to have caught a bit of luck that the Titan is leaving the market.

it took toyota 10 years, 10 years, to redesign this truck and what they handed the toyota-philes is s**t on a stick. Was gonna' buy one but have better things to do with $70k!
