2022 Tundra Chrome Delete | Window Trim Moulding | How to Remove & Reinstall

My 2022 Tundra is losing the chrome as I replace the door handles, window trim, grille surround, tailgate handle and bumper caps. This kit can be purchased complete or as individual pieces. Here are links to the install tutorials for each as well as product links:

thank you - very helpful video (i would also note when removing side trim - old adhesive may still be stuck on there - so you may have to spend time removing that as well)

Having just replaced mine over the weekend, I think a couple of things could have been mentioned. First, when you remove the vertical piece, most of the double backed tape stays on the truck and has to be removed. Second, I had a really hard time getting the front door trim to come out. After popping the clip loose, I was trying to pull it straight up. But there is an edge that catches inside the door. I finally figured out that twisting it a bit, pulling the top edge toward you and pushing the bottom away will unhook that edge and then it comes right out. In any case, thanks for the great vid. It was a huge help!

I dislike chrome too. That is why I chose the platinum version. yeah the TRD package is cool, but for me the utilization of the TRD package would be minimal. I wish Toyota would have offered it in the platinum, for I would have taken the package. However I love the darker tones and dark chrome of the Platinum. I think it looks the best. Good review as always. Happy the dealer fixed your truck too!

When you change the trim on the rear did it solve the lifted rubber seal that keeps popping up or its the same. You know the window seal that looks short in the corner and has a tiny gap.

That Vertical rear weather stripping seal was just redesigned by Toyota under a new part number. Old part number would warm in the sun and the tab suppose to secure the bottom corner would pull out. Go bring it to a dealer and get both sides replaced.

I plan on painting mine. This window trim kit he installed is $626. No way I’m paying that when I can just paint the factory ones.

Anyone try painting these parts? Seems very expensive to replace all chrome parts. My Limited is hopefully being delivered in March. Definitely deleting the chrome. Too bad Toyota did that. I wanted Limited TRD Off Road Hybrid. Chrome only option.
