The Ukr. troops weren’t actually killed but were taken prisoner, and were subsequently released in a prisoner exchange. At least that’s what I read…

Yeah, they were actually captured, but the Ukrainian government assumed they had been killed and issued "posthumous" awards. They were later returned on a prisoner exchange and Zelensky gave them the awards that had been awarded when they thought they were dead.

Nice vid Cap!! loved to see the flanker back in action again!! Only the information about the 13 Ukrainian troops that got killed is false, they were captured by the russian navy, being shipped to the mainland and were released to ukrainian forces. President Zelensky congratiulated the troops and awarded them the Hero of Ukraine medals, after that they went back on active duty on the frontlines.

They were presumed killed, after losing communications, knowing it was the Moskva that the Zminyi troopers to go f itself, and we know what the Moska was capable of, and it made sense then to assume they all died. Not that it's false, not that is fake, like the Wumao trolls say, but more like a relief that the remaining Ukrainian dudes on Zminyi were spared of their lives, that it's good to know there are still Russian sailors or soldiers that do not just shoot the defeated. This just proves how fog of war can just be used to get clickbaits on the web on any side.

And there were not 13 but 82 soldiers. It is all you need to know about Ukrainian care about their soldiers. They tald about death of only 13 soldiers(So, looks like 13/82 is a factor of ukrainian loses), even several days after video of capturing and surrender on main russian TVs.

this mission was divided into stages 1. TB2 were hunting small surface units and 2 were destroyed 2. TB2 cleared the island itself of TOR both destroyed and this cannon, later they hunted soldiers with manpads even 3. TB2 destroyed 2 radar stations 3. The right thing happened bombing 4. The TB2s again destroyed a larger vessel in the port that was delivering supplies of some sort of landing barge. And the icing on the cake, i.e. destroying the helicopter with a TB2 bomb.

we were moviing at a high rate of speed and pulled up immediately after release. We definitely pushed to limits of lowest and safest point.

I'm not sure of the convention but for the real strike would it not have been safer if the lead aircraft hit the further target to avoid splash damage on the second aircraft?

The smoke also filled up the entire island. The whole surface. I'd imagine soldiers dying from smoke inhalation. I've been too close to large forest fire and not being able to get away from smoke was terrifying.

High drag bombs might have made a big difference in the attack, there. They allow a more vertical terminal path to target even when running on full afterburner. Simba was on Cap like white on rice, good formation flying there!

Missile was tracking the plane, but the proximity fuse on it detonated when it came too close to the bomb

Moldova doesn't have a coast. The nearest mainland to Snake island is Ukraine and Romania. Snake island should be within range the M777 howitzers if placed in the area around the mouth of the Danube.

Great video, i feel like you have been upping the quality of the content recently and it shows! The island actually looks very similar. The mission looked good, but i feel like the Russians were completely unprepared and sloppy! I did not see a single tracer go up at either the drone or the Flankers. I have no doubt of the Ukrainians skills either, it seemed like a perfectly executed bombing run in a very difficult situation and the secondary explosions only prove they were on target. Before we know it Ukraine will become a leader in military training, doctrine, and tactics. Also i think DCS needs a much lower difficulty level for ground AI lol. PS. Dear youtube: stop pointlessly fucking with the interface, its worse than before.

@@andreipendle1778 thing is Ukraine asked for training and better battle ideas for years now, and they adopted essential war winning battle doctrines, ie, "NCO" mission command doctrine, while the russians never moved on from a "top heavy" mission command where every decision of a BTG relies on what your general says.

@@markuskoivisto How you you know they weren't inflatables? Russians do have a habit of leaving dummies and mock ups (which look very real from on high) to distract and draw enemy fire. I personally doubt there was a single Russian soldier nor one single SAM system on that island. Such a small island (0.4 miles by 0.4 miles and nowhere to hide) is very difficult to defend.

Here is an idea for you. What if HMS Vanguard (Royal Navy's last battleship, I know you'd need to sub in another battleship) was around for the Falklands War and how well could she help the amphibious landing of British forces. A lot of experts have said if she was still around then Argentina may not of started the war due to the 15" bombardments on land forces, her heavy anti air and her ability of the belt armour withstand missile attacks.

IRL, russian SAM and any other AAA was destroyed before flankers bomb run, you can find 2 Byraktar SEAD strikes video in which destroyed TORs

That was a great bomb run by the two SU-24 flanker. The Russians just cant put their bombers to such good use. The Ukrainians did that in true professional style. That Island was protected from air by S300 systems...and the Ukrainian bombers were never even detected on radar until too late. Good and gutsy pilots pulling of a truly precision strike under difficult circumstance. After seeing this...one must wonder if Russia truly got all Ukraine's fighters and bombers, as they are still flying and avoiding the Russian defenses. I am sure Ukraine also had their planes elsewhere when Russian's bombed their supposed locations...same with their military depots!
