As an American who is over 60, I am beyond appalled and disgusted with the turn my nation has taken. Reviewing the comments, especially from Americans this thread , I see the same sentiment. This is very true. Growing up here in the Maldives. American music by Michael Jackson or films by Eddie Murphy were very popular and loved but that is all gone now. No one watches or listens to US culture anymore. Instead, what we see now are vulgar drag queens teaching kids and overt peadophilia. It is a country that has become sick and repulsive.

I thought America was great. Then I had to visit it several times on business. I was not impressed. If I was younger I would do so. But, alas, I am now 77. I am also Slovene by ethnic heritage and naturalization - but SLO is captured by EU. In 2021 I sold my apt there. EU and USA both totally lacking trustworthiness. My geographical was to move to FL. Oh, my! Now have reservations about DeSantis - but still best if he remains governor here.

I'd add that beyond the image projected by the US, the current dominant US culture will spawn a whole generation of morally degenerate citizens. They're gone way over the abyss. Just watch what's coming from the US and you'll be flabbergasted by that sick society. I used to love America where I spent most of my life; now I still generally like the regular people, but I just can't stand anything related to their political, economic and especially cultural ideas. They do appear as technologically-advanced but morally-depraved people.

Great analysis. You are so right about the media and the soft power that it has. I grew up watching a lot of American movies and playing their games and I think that most of the people did the same during the 2000s. I even remember playing for the US forces exclusively in Battlefield Vietnam because they were "the cool guys". All that fog of the "greatness" started to come off a couple years before Trump's election because all that sjw theme was still bearable so far but his election protruded that issue as since that time they couldn't hold themselves not to tell everyone what you should do and how to behave and what to think because of their self-sustained hatred of him. It's not me only but a lot of people from the West as well according to youtube comments share the same opinion that 90s and 2000s were the peak of American media. It is especially true for post Soviet countries as after the collapse you were just mesmerised by the clean beautiful cozy streets and happy people that you saw through the tv screen after you came back home from the reality that drastically different. I stopped to care about the American movies since you could truly feel their decadence since the only message they started to bring is the political one.
