How does weather affect your economy so much? Are you sure you’re not losing tyre pressure or something? If anything you should gain more economy because the tyres have less rolling resistance because rubber is less sticky to the road.
@W1AEX6 ай бұрын
@@123ChrisG Tire pressure is stable at 36 psi all 4 tires. The fuel economy with cold weather appears to be due to the need for the engine to run to produce heat for the heater. If I shut off the heater mileage comes up again, but I like being warm! :)

@kurtburkhardt58627 ай бұрын
It is noisy, but not so bad. We had a Escape Hybrid for 14 years and had to turn up the radio or honk the horn quite a few times to warn people who just walked in front or behind us in parking lots.

Actually my 2013 Prius C “beeps” a low tone when people step out in front of me between cars in a parking lot. Otherwise, they wouldn’t hear me coming. Want a 2024 (or 2025)hybrid, but the Toyotas don’t have US or Canadian made batteries to qualify for the Federal EV rebate, so I’m hoping my 2005 Sienna Van holds out until the RAV 4 has the “qualifying” battery. Simply can’t afford one without it. That’s also hoping the Rebate isn’t repealed by then. A bit Leary of the anticipated 2025 “totally new” redesign. My brother is a retired mechanical engineer, and he said you never want to by a new designed vehicle for the first 2-3 years of production, until they figure out the “bugs” in the new design

We bought a 2023 Rav4 Hybrid Limited for our daughter last spring. We weren't looking for a Limited, but that was the only one available...Unfortunately, we were in a time crunch so we were forced to pay over list price. It is a great vehicle, and our daughter loves it. However, I think dealers that add $3-4000 to the price as "market adjustments" are crooks. We will never do that again...We love Toyota's and have 2014 4Runner with 148,000 miles on it. We are waiting for the new 6th gen or the Land Cruiser 250. We have time, so will find a good dealer and order one without the adjustment. Hopefully, they will ramp up production so the supply chain issues won't be such a problem.
@JASCdmolay7 ай бұрын
you should file a complain to toyota. you should have bought from autonation. it's a publicly traded co. and they don't have that policy. there's one dealer here in Central FL who tried to rip me off last year. I said no, and bought from Autonation instead. 2022 xle premium AWD for $38K out the door. then days later the said greedy dealer called me and willing to drop the market adj. BS. i don't like hybrid or EV due to prohibitive cost of the battery($6-8K) which you would need to replace most likely after 6 years (start saving a $100/mo. now). and you have to drive it a lot otherwise the batteries will degrade. not to mention, lithium is prone to catching fire or blowing up. there's a reason why airlines don't want you to check in any of your lithium batteries.
@kurtburkhardt58627 ай бұрын
Yep, paying over sticker was bad, time crunch. Hybrids get lots of miles and years. Our Escape Hybrid went 178K and 14 years original battery still working when we sold it. Our 2012 Fusion hybrid 11 years and over 100k still running great. Replacing the batteries is expensive, but we have never needed to. Will get a Land Cruiser or 4Runner hybrid once they come out and then we will have 3 hybrids. We have had great results and 30-45 MPG city speaks for itself.

All my life I wanted a Rav4 Hybrid. This year I finally bought a brand new 2023 and I love the hybrid mileage, the ground clearance and the 4 wheel drive. I was so in love that I totally ignored all the drastic design flaws. The roof is two inches too low. I am 5'10" and I bang my head every time I get in and out and what's even worse is the serious visibility flaws. When I look 30 degrees to the right the rear view mirror is directly in front of my face. If I want to look 30 degrees to the right I have to duck my head down to see underneath the rear view mirror. The center console is three inches too wide on both sides. It digs into my right knee making it painful to my knee cap to keep my foot on the accelerator pedal. I’m thinking about gluing on some padding to ease this problem. My wife also complains about leg discomfort on her side. The side pillars are so wide that I absolutely cannot see oncoming cars at intersections of less than ninety degrees. I feel like this is going to kill me one day. The headrest is so stupidly designed that I sometimes feel like it is forcing my head down. After four months of constantly banging my head, serious visibility problems, the most uncomfortable seating and the loudest road and wind noise of any car I have ever owned I am now sorry that I ever bought a RAV4 at all. Plus I heard of a new class action law suit because the moon roof drains are short circuiting the air bags which it claims Toyota knew about but failed to fix which the customer must now pay to fix and there is other talk about a power cable corrosion that may cost up to $6K to fix. After four months of living with this car I'm now sorry I ever bought a RAV4.

Example, you're going 45 but slowly decreasing to 40 then pick up to 45 again over and over again while making sure you're on EV as much as possible you'll see great results in mpg! Though, beware you'll probably get those inpatient drivers going for your throat so do let them slide by if possible.

The USB ports should be able to be used to play music through the car's stereo, though I have not tried it on the RAV4. A flash drive is capable of storing many CDs on a single drive. Portable CD players can be purchased that are very inexpensive and should also be capable of being powered and played using one of the USB ports. Of course, you could also do it the old-fashioned way and stream your music from Amazon Music, Sirius, Apple Music, etc.

Didn’t even notice the unusual door handle location until someone pointed it out in a review. Yes, it is a somewhat questionable ergonomic design decision but a VERY minor one IMHO all things considered. The more significant one that I’ve seen pointed out in some reviews is how the position of the steering wheel can restrict leg room for those with moderate to long legs. Wasn’t an issue for me being only 5’7” and I was leaning towards putting this in the same minor drawback category as the door handle until I had to wear a leg cast after meniscus surgery.

Hyundai Kia has so many vehicles in stock at least locally with Toyota having limited to no product excepting the Toyota Cross and well nigh unfriendly about doing business in the getting of vehicles was a huge turn off. Tesla will keep dominating US vehicle sales as a consequence with Rivian now surging as well and Lucid after that. Maybe a Jeep 4xE has some promise going forward but to date other than the Toyota Prius hybrid drive offerings have been almost all marketing garbage as opposed to sound engineering. Still sell enough and even that might get resolved. Long $hmc Honda Motor Corporation as the Motorcycle offerings aren't being consumed by these nightmares.

The cable corrosion issue in the connection to the rear hybrid motor makes the RAV4 hybrid a ticking time bomb, though. Why Toyota never re-designed this major, major issue that could lead to your car dying and a 5k repair is beyond me. A majority of the other Toyota hybrids run the cable into the motor from above, though not the RAV. If they can't fix this, I can't buy the car, as much as I would like to.
