Welcome to the first track day with the 765RS after it’s first service. if it wasn’t run in before, it certainly is now!
The Bike was fantastic on track and the power deficit after riding my GSXR wasn’t actually that much of an issue, i just need to learn how to ride properly! and this bike certainly helps with that and in not relying on power to make up for lack of riding ability 🫣😅
Come on board for a few laps and then a few mins of post track day thoughts with it at the end.
Grab a beverage of choice and join me for a couple of laps.

Nice one!! Always hard to know how much track content to put up, as anything more than about 3 or 4 laps is a bit boring! But a few are nice to see. Sounds good, it's a great bike and seriously capable, I just need to adjust my own commitment levels to cater for lack of straight line speed! . But its so much fun to ride, which is what it's all about at the end of the day.

Yeah I have a trailer too but for track days further away, can't beat having the bikes inside where its dry and a bit more secure. With just my bike inside, there's plenty room to sleep down one side. Other option would be a box trailer, but not many people have the money, space or justification for one just sitting about for track day use only. Theres always a compromise somewhere, like having to remove the double seat which is bloomin' awkward and heavy. That's for watching and for the comments. 😎👍😁

Afternoon - Jon at Racefit done me excellent job on Street Triple RS moto 2 new trial fir them at Racefit just been to look & collect tomorrow - 2018 headers straight on Racefit growler off my 2017 Trille straight on no adjustment at all can't wait for Wednesday night run out

Recently purchased one myself in Cosmic yellow. Love it. Traded 'down' from the Speed 1200RS (actually feels like an upgrade!). Shame about the mic quality there. You've given that rear Supercorsa a thorough workout. What pressures did you run? What do you run on road? Looking forward to seeing the exhaust upgrade

Ah nice one. Yeah, I test rode a 1200RS before I had the Gsxr, it wasnt bad, but I felt was a bit light on the front end for track work. 765 is certainly more involving to ride than that and the gsxr (as much I loved it). Yeah, dunno what was gong on with the audio & mic on the drive, maybe still some water in it, not as crisp as it normally is. Rear was 27 hot, front was 32 Hot. Normally run standard pressures for road use (36f and 42 rear). Thesis for watching!

Yeah, really good mate. I really really loved the gsxr for its outright bonkers performance and for what it was, but hate to say, the RS is more fun being able to ride it that bit harder. Certainly encourages you to not rely on power to make up for lack of skill 😂. But, for what it is, it really isn't slow. Thanks for watching!

@@HippoDrones yeah! well, lap times so far, appear that im slightly quicker on the street than the Suzuki. It's not about times so much as enjoyment for me, but anyone can ride fast in a straight line. Chatting with Sam Munro that day, he's done an unofficial 54s round knockhill on a cb500 and a 52s on his mates standard 765, so it's def not about power!! Albeit, it's not a power circuit, but the bike is better on track than the gsxs 750 was. Still... If I had a crystal ball and wasnt so addicted to bikes I prob would have kept my K8 Gsxr 750! 😂🙄🤔

Hello Mr Twist, stumbled upon your channel recently while looking up videos of the new Street Triple RS and instantly subscribed. I loved what you did with the carbon fibre upgrades and the bike looks stunning! I was curious about the lever guards and I was wondering if you could share a link or the name as I'm looking to get the same set. Additionally, do we need any adaptors if we have to fit them along with the official Triumph bar-end mirrors?

Ah thanks for watching, the positive comments and for joining, it really is appreciated. The brake lever guard is actually what I removed from my GSXR1000R and fortunately, it screwed straight on to the bars. Can be bought from: www.lightechuk.com/lever-protection-1236-c.asp

@@twistandgo3414 Thank you! These levers fit on top of the official Triumph bar end mirrors without the need for any adapters right(I saw this in one of your earlier videos).

@@reyals66 yes. I have mine fitted by just taking off the end cover of the bar. You will need a bolt to fit it though as the end cover bolt is not long enough to re-use. I'm away with work at the minute to double check, but I'm sure it's an M6 bolt.

Mate how did this compete with a 600 on track? I used to track an R6 but having test ridden this bike it feels a lot easier to ride fast than a bent over super sports bike. However, I couldn’t tell whether that’s just because I’m going slower due to the wind blast and more upright seat position. What do you think based on your track experience? Thanks

well… i’m quicker round knockhill and donington park on the 765 than i was on my Gsxr1000R. don’t get me wrong, GSXR was obviously faster up the straights, but the 765 is so much fun to ride and the corner speed you can carry and late turn in is awesome, it flatters your riding and encourages you to be a better rider and not rely on power for speed. Check out the Donington track day on the 765 where my mate is on his gsxr 1000R and i’m staying with him and catching him. it’s all about fun at the end of the day. if you raced a 600 you won’t have any problems! thanks for watching!

You can certainly hold your own thats for sure 👌 never done a track day dont feel comfortable throwing my knee down 😂

Thanks - yeah, doing OK... But still lots to improve on. As quick on this as I was on the gsxr though, if not a touch quicker! 😂. Don't need to get your knee down to make decent progress or even do a track day. All about fun at the end of the day and it's certainly that. 😎👍

@twistandgo3414 been riding bikes for 15 years mixture of different bikes. Just the confidence of getting that low I don't have. Really have you had i Ecu flashed or anything. Think I will with the gsxs

@@MadNath yeah, been fortunate enough to have had lots of bikes over the years too and don't think that will change much, although feeling quite settled again at the minute which is good. No ECU tuning available for the RS at the minute, but Rapidbike do a tuning module so that's on the cards very soon 😁😎

It's great isn't it!? 27 hot straight off track on the rear and 30/32 hot on the front. Couldn't really fault the tyres in honesty. They're a bit squirmy cold for the first half a lap or so but soon warm up. Could use warmers of course, but I couldn't be bothered this time round. Not like you can go flat out straight off warmers anyway by the time you get on track. Thanks for watching! 😁👍😎💛

does that smoke tinted wind defector come with fly screen when you buy it?

No. You can spec those as aftermarket options. Theres the fly screen which is the yellow part and then the fly screen visor which is the black plastic part.

Yes, the 2022 model headers fit. I've just fitted spark headers to mine with the Akrapovic link pipe 😁😎👍

@@stuart5899 video coming on that. It's recorded, just making time to edit as away with work at the minute. Essentially, I just needed to fit a spacer behind the footpeg, but that's it really, went straight on with no real issues.

Stunning bike! Just the right amount of carbon accessories, too. You didn't overdo it by adding the subframe infills and front fender although adding the heel guards would look good, imo.

Thanks! In honesty, been thinking about adding the front mud guard to finish it off, but been a little hesitant as possibly a touch overkill? Would need a set of stickers though to take the edge off and keep the original look. Can certainly have too much carbon (in my opinion) and the frame and swing arm guards are there for protection on track days (just in case). Thanks for watching.

@@twistandgo3414 It's certainly a difficult choice to make. On the one hand, it'd match the extended carbon hugger & chain guard so that would seemingly be a good thing. But maybe not due to being overkill plus the fact that the black metallic shine of the existing fender looks great as-is and matches the black elsewhere on the bike. It's obviously a subjective choice when all is said and done but for me I'd say leave the fender as-is. Indeed. Loads of carbon accessories might be more in keeping with the look of grey metallic colour bike but would look a bit awkward on the cosmic yellow colour bike because part of what makes the cosmic yellow colour pop so much is its contrast with the black parts of the bike. Changing too many of those black parts to the dark grey of carbon wouldn't look so striking.

Powerbronze 3/4 headlight covers. Just to protect the headlight on track days and the road from any potential stone chips etc. Held on with hook and loop so easily removed in seconds.
