I think people are giving the Integra too much hate, and I don't think it deserves it. I think more people were expecting it to be similar to that old Integra DC-2 of the 1990s, especially that of the Integra Type R. But we have to remember, expectations change, and times change, and the Integra of the 1990s was never going to be beaten. And nothing is able to be better than that. I think that this Integra has grown on me in terms of design tbh, and it looks better the more I look at it. Also, Honda/Acura manual transmissions are just phenomenal, they never get that wrong.

Outstanding video. I agree with all of your points and for providing more value than many reviewers. I also strongly agree with your manual comments. I was diehard for many, many years. Like you, I ultimately got tired of the half-baked implementations. With the advent of the ZF8 and good dual-clutch transmissions, I made the move. That said, I couldn't deal with a half-baked auto trans either, which keeps many cars off my list. Please keep the strong content coming. It's a head-scratcher for me to see how some channels became popular when the information presented was of such limited value. Keep doing you.

Thanks so much for the kind words and support you’ve shown me my friend I really appreciate it! Yes the properly tuned ZF8 transmissions and other well calibrated Auts are so satisfying while getting great real world fuel economy. A great manual like this does bring the love back for sure. And I def don’t care about views anymore, if I can even help one person that is fine by me, KZfaq can keep throttling my views and notifications as much as they want. I own one of these, so KZfaq has noticed and recommended every video about it. I have to say I agree with several of your opinions on it, but I disagree in two places: - Idle stop - Adaptive dampers The idle stop system is very helpful for driving in the city and saving a little bit of gas. Genuinely, this system feels good to use because it's in a manual vehicle. If you clutch in, the engine starts. Period. It takes getting used to for the first little while, but you get over it and find it's more annoying to turn it off than to use it and save a little bit of gas. It also helps reduce emissions in the city, which is good because there are people walking around breathing that air! The adaptive dampers are noticeable. Everyone I've shown the system to has noticed even from the passenger's seat. They engage slowly, so it's hard to notice the difference unless you sit and drive it for a bit. It's not dramatic, but it's noticeable to the point where I get annoyed at the road feel outside of comfort mode on some of the messy highways around here. I also appreciate your discussion of the value proposition. The price is always right with an Acura.
@MeynMotorGroup
@MeynMotorGroup Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing this valuable information! I hear you on the Auto stop start it is designed well and it is smooth. I unfortunatley couldn’t get anyone to notice a difference with the dampers in the passenger or rear seats but yes there will be a subtle difference taking place. It is certainly a fantastic car and I always loved the value proposition represented by Acura. Enjoy!

My biggest issue with this car is that I feel like they crippled the power so as not to compete with the Type S. I get they don’t want to cannibalize the sales of the S, but they could have easily put 250+ HP and another 50lb ft of torque, and kept the price the same to make it a little more compelling sport sedan option.

@canyonblue737-8 5 ай бұрын
For the exact same price of a A Spec Tech you can get a AWD 5.6 sec 0-60 Mazda 3 Hatchback. I prefer the look of the Acura but you could argue the interior and performance of the Mazda is superior and it’s a much older design.
@floodedmoat2620

My biggest praise of Acura is that they seem to know their market. Most younger buyers will opt for an SI since they’re cheaper and offer adequate enough creature comforts. But the demographics of people who upgrade to Acura are usually older people who still want some fun, while also preferring the luxuries of, well, luxury cars. The bigger question is how the type-S will stack up to the type-R, and what kinds of drivers they will attract.

So true. They originally launched the Integra in the 80s and 90s as an aspirational car for the upward moving person in their late 20's/early 30's. Thats exactly what this car turned out to be for me as I bought one at age 31. I did not know I wanted this at all, until they launched it and their description of target audience literally described me in every detail. They know their target audience.

Very realistic review. The value proposition of this car is different from the Civic Si. I looked at one and while it's not a 300 hp 9000rpm screamer, it's also not priced like one in todays environment. It looks like a good to great car for the price point, all things considered in 2023.

@@MeynMotorGroup Regarding the adaptive dampers, I was disappointed that there wasnt a perceivable difference when I first drove the car. But really I was expecting something ridiculous, like Rolls Royce to Civic Type R transformation. After a few months of owning, there is absolutely a significant difference between the modes. Its not in the immediate impact, but it alters how the dampers respond in controlling the body motion, and also in how much lean is allowed when cornering. On a bumpy road in sport mode, the car feels bouncy to the driver (at the expense of comfort). Switching to comfort allows the car to be more relaxed in resolving the body motions so it bounces you less in your seat.

Nice video as always! I really like the Integra a lot as an overall package. Absolutely love the gearbox. It's super annoying that you have to actually pull over and dig through menus to turn off rev matching, as you mention. Agree that should be a button. I will say, I didn't mind the auto start/stop (in the SI at least, I had more time with that one) because it's way more ready to go. Like you press the clutch and it kicks back on, so by the time you're engaging, it's on vs an automatic where you hit the gas and have to wait for the spark first and then go. And adaptive suspension makes more of a difference on bad roads in my experience. I thought it was all a gimmick until I drove my GTI over a super rough road and popped it from Sport to Comfort. But most of the time, yeah, doesn't make a huge difference.

I've had my '24 6mt for 3 weeks now, crossed shopped the wrx, si, civic wagon gt 6mt, Mazda 3 6mt, GTI, and no matter what, I kept coming back to the Integra. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I've always been a Honda/Acura guy and especially Integra fan. I know it's just a civic si with more stuff and that's what I wanted. I think Acura will release an Integra (non type s) with more power in the future, maybe a gsr version.

I’m glad the video helped my friend, sadly I have not driven the newest Si or WRX, only WRX I drove was from 2015 and the Si I drove was from 2017. WRX stands out as the AWD option so if that is important to you, that’s a great option and I do know that many people were able to lease a WRX for like $350 a month on leasehackr which is nice. Honda products will get amazing fuel economy in the real world. All of these cars should drive good you probably won’t be disappointed. I personally like the Acura for the looks, hatch, luxury badge and dealer support, fuel economy, and manual.

Great review. I was sort of hoping this vehicle interior just look a bit different. The interior looks too similar comparing to the Civic in my eyes. I know this generation Integra is based on the current Civic platform (and always has been since it beginning of time), but I know Acura can make something different, unique, and special for this vehicle, like they did with the new generation TLX. I can understand their reason to keep the prices as low as possible. My current 2020 Acura TLX has a 8-speed DCT, which I think it's a gem, and it will be nice if Acura offer that transmission on the Integra & maybe other models. Either way, I'm glad the Integra name return to the Acura brand & hopefully it stay around this time.

Yea they def lifted the civic interior for sure with only some subtle enhancements. Which isn’t a bad thing since the Civic is trying to be upscale kind of like Mazda so this Integra feels much better on the inside then some entry level Mercs. Exactly! The quick-shot reviewers and knuckle-dragger enthusiasts all compared this thing to the Si when the natural upgrade path is from the Civic Sport Touring. Right now, the 2024s are: Civic Sport Touring, paint (all colors cost extra...), manual, destination - $33000 Integra ASpec Tech, manual, destination - $37695 (+$600 for a color other than silver) $4695 for the goodies doesn't seem like such a huge stretch. If you want heated leather and can live with a cvt, the difference is even closer. I'd have to get the Integra ASpec Tech for the manual and lumbar adjust.

My main point above is that people were complaining that it costs too much compared to the Si which is decontented and much stiffer/less comfortable. Honda was targeting a different audience with the Si. The Sport Touring people who want something with that little bit more can look to the Integra and then the Type S. Yup so many people fail to do their research on the older products and the other thing about the Acura cars is they usually get different tweaks and tunings to seperate themselves from the Honda that is is based upon. Not to mention in the real world, an Acura carries prestige and value as a luxury product with a better dealer experience. The people that say they don’t care about such things tend to care the most deep down.
