Now that it has the Golf R drivetrain it comes closer to justifying it's near Audi A5 sportback premium pricetag. I think it would be a pretty good value skipping the SEL+ and either getting a regular SEL or SE. You still get the 300hp/7 speed DSG and a decent level of standard equipment on the lower end trims.

Yes but you lose quite a bit, starting with the 700 Watt Harman Kardon stereo upgrade (The stock ain’t good), Heated/cooled front seats and rear heated seats, 3-Zone HVAC controls, Napa leather seats, remote engine start, autonomous parking, etc. For Arteon SEL Premium was well worth it and $10K off MSRP when I picked it up brand new earlier this year.

@@Pamlicojdjdj1487 $10k off MSRP really is a great deal, especially with insane car prices these days. I'd say for the deal you got stepping up to the premium was the right move.

A lot has changed. Interior was refreshed in 2021 and for 2022 it received a much needed powertrain improvement for the US market: EA888 evo 4 engine from the Golf R (300HP/295TQ), 7-Speed DSG among many others
