Women use the sanitary thin pads so when they stop to pee they don’t have to worry about getting paper out of their pack to wipe and it keeps your underwear clean to wear multiple days before washing. Then you just throw them in a ziplock bag each night and trash them when you get to a trash can. I have used them for years and they can make your hiking much more enjoyable. I tried the pee cups and it just didn’t work for me.

@@sulj3373 I completely agree. But we still find ways to get out there and that’s why it’s so important for us women to share information with the other gals out there. Some way or another we all struggle in areas that men don’t have to worry about but I’m sure they have their struggles too. Happy Trails….

I use a pee rag, too, along with a lady j. Very happy with it. Before microbial rags, we used natural sponges to rinse ourselves off. We’d get a pan full of water and get some distance from the water source and sluice off using it. I never went to bed dirty if I could help it; it would have to be blowing rain or snow when we skipped it. You sleep warmer clean. I’ll be looking for one of your rags.

Thank you for this gear video! Very helpful! A 70L pack? WOW! I couldn’t! You are strong, girl! I have a 40L for my ‘24 thru. I figured I’ll get all the essentials in there and if it doesn’t fit-well, I probably don’t need it lol! Anyway, thanks again! And BTW-I’ve HAD a broken pelvis, so I KNOW your pain. Ugh! Praying for full recovery for you, Renee. Take care. . . ❤️

The Durston Kakwa40 size small. Fits me good. I have a very short torso, so it’s been hard trying to find the right one. But this seems good. I have yet to fill it with everything-still waiting for a few things to be delivered, THEN it’ll be the moment of truth lol!

WOW! What a great gear video! Thanks so much. Would you consider doing another video in which you answer some questions from your viewers? I'm especially interested in how many mice/snakes/rats you encountered in the shelters (the fear of them is what keeps me in my tent and not in the shelters, usually)... also, did you use a Pee-Style or "Freshette" or other FUD? (I can't hike without my Freshette!) and, finally, what foods/meals did you like the best and what do you NEVER want to eat again? Thanks- I've really enjoyed watching your hike!

Yes I sure can.

I wonder what other questions your audience might have? Like: favorite section of the trail? strategies for getting up (or down) hills? tips for staying in hostels? shelter etiquette? when your tent/gear was wet, how did you pack it in your backpack and keep everything else from getting soaked? Why did you abandon bear canister and was it hard finding places to hang food bag difficult? scariest moment? encounters with wildlife? (bears, snakes etc.) etc etc. Im a section hiker who is in awe of your accomplishment this summer!
