While this may be the best-looking Audi, how are you a BMW fanyboy? The M4 looks much more aggressive and like a spaceship on the inside. The RS5 looks just like an A5/S5, and the infotainment is ages ahead.

I am an Audi fan in Japan but have to agree that when it comes to BMW (sorry to say not a huge fan) I have to say the 6 and 8 series are indeed really cool cars

Their packaging sucks..heated seats only instead having cooled seats included....then sum of the materials are VW plasticky..audio system sucks and expensive parts to maintain with this price point..overall good car 🚗 😊

Agree with you on the tradeoff Michael... the driver package is far more useful than the cosmetic package. Pleased that my 21 has both lol. 🙏

My MB was full of junk, Alfa's dealer network sucks & I had good experiences with an S4 & S5, so I landed on the RS5 most recently; I could never abide a BMW interior & that goes back quite a ways (1985-September 2023) when my friends' parents drove them & my dad drove a Dodge lol. Anyway, the wear on the leather & alcantara is >>>> than my MB.... but it's still awfully plasticky lol. No, the quality of the synthetic materials is not greatly improved over my CTS-vSport. To wit, the Guilia QV had the brightest, shiniest, finger-printiest, lowest-quality feel of any car I owned since a 03 Neon, but no one complains about that interior. Bc we all keep telling ourselves "it's only about the motor + the handling, that's all that matters in this bracket". 🙄🤦‍♂

The RS5 Sportback is like a compact Panamera with the same engine. This car is way more luxurious and still significantly faster than the M340i. I see five M340’s a day and they don’t stick out AT ALL. Also RWD biased and does have physical buttons for A/C and seat controls that are a lot nicer. Plus has a full hatch instead of trunk for way more room. Being half a second quicker to 60 plus massage honeycomb stitched seats should tell you everything you need to know about the RS5 lol

@Stefano Marcellino How is it much faster? That's b.s. The M340i does 3.9 seconds and this does 3.8 seconds from launch control. Both run about 12s on the 1/4 mile. They are a few tenths apart at most (I am using the RS5 coupe times), which I can't even count because that is down to so many factors such as fuel, rims, driver weight. The passing times aren't faster either. From idle, the BMW will dust it. The off the line lag in the Audi is terrible when LC is not engaged. This also doesn't have physical dials and a small outdated screen. If you want to stand out get the M440i Gran Coupe. I also see the A5/S5 daily. The RS5 is still the same body style. The M340 is a stealthy weapon. Looks calm, but it will make your Audi try😂 No one cares about the stiching pattern of the seats. They are not even that comfortable. They drive into your armpits and wear you out fast. I owned a 2021. So again, how is it better? Care to explain with facts?

@@DMCarReviews the M340i is not any wider than a regular 330i. The RS5 has wider wheel fenders and a wider track than a A5/S5 to accommodate for larger tires and brakes. So regardless of our opinion the RS5 has a much sportier set up. The M340 has standard brakes and cannot be optioned with carbon ceramics unlike the RS5 which has 6 piston calipers as standard and carbon ceramic as an option. At 11:03 he mentions the seats and stitching which you claim no one cares about but its a huge detail. It says RS5 on the seat and everything is wrapped in carbon fiber. Combine that with massage seats and better materials its waaay more luxurious. The M340 doesn’t even have carbon fiber as an interior option. At 9:50 those are physical buttons and again better material. Audi claims 0-60 in 3.8 but dragy data shows stock RS5s are actually capable of 0-60 in 3.3 and 1/4 mile in 11.4 which is over half a second quicker in a car thats a lot more luxurious.

I have a ‘21 RS5 sport back. No one buying an RS5 is cross-shopping it with an M340. M3 absolutely, was in the market for one but with LA roads I found the RS5 ride significantly better than the M3 for daily driving. I will give you that the M3 x drive outperforms the RS5 in most performance categories but I personally think the RS5 is much better looking and comfortable imo. The differences between an RS5 and S5 in person is quite significant, the bulged out fenders add presence and the car is noticeably lower. Night and day differences in person. I’ve also raced a handful of M340’s and I’ve easily beaten them off the line. On a rolling 40 it was much closer, but was still able to pull out ahead by half a car length. Tuned M340’s are a different story, I’ll admit defeat against those, but my RS5 is still stock. To each their own, but again I think people who are shopping for a newer RS5 aren’t cross shopping with an M340, and if they are - they shouldn’t be looking at an RS5 in the first place.

I owned a 2020 M340i xDrive and sold it for a 2019 RS5 Sportback and now I'm in a 2022 RS5 Sportback. The M340i is nice but the RS5 is in another league and it feels special to drive. It looks way more aggressive in person as well (low, wide) whereas the M340i looks no different from a 330i with the M Sport appearance package. Even for the extra money, I would take the RS5 all day every day over the M340i. Don't get me wrong, I do love the M340i and think it's one of BMW's best overall packages.
