Fascinating! I bought it and found I needed a larger pillow and I couldn't sleep well when I slept on air. I'm now in the pillow hunt of a compressible pillow I might like. The weight, pack size and valve system are amazing, but sleep is very individual and whilst it is perfect for many people, it sadly doesn't work for me

@@bananarama3624 I use the large version of the Aeros premium. I make sure to not fully inflate because it’s very I’m uncomfortable if you fully inflate. Nemo makes an inflatable pillow that has an inch of memory foam on top I loved that pillow but it was not high enough and it was “heavy”.

@@apisornlapchurat4220 yes, it's normal. It doesn't really bother me because after a hike I fall asleep easily so I assume a position and after I fall asleep I don't hear it. But in the meantime I bought a new pillow for my home, and it's pretty high so after having that for a while, I tried aeros premium fully inflated and it is fine for me so I guess it's a matter of getting used to it when fully inflated.

Pad straps are fine if you have a rectangular pad. I have a mummy shaped pad, and the strap on my trekology 2 pilow just makes it shoot off rather than stay on the pad. I zip up my fleece around the pad so that it is "wearing" the fleece, with the zip on the underside of the pad. Then I stuff the pillow under the fleece. This keeps it in place and I have the fleece as a pillow case.

The S2S pillow fits in the Hikenture case just fine, and now I have a pillow strap. I csn also tuck my down jacket under the pillow cover if I need more loft. Best solution I've found so far.

I tend to agree with you on pillows overall over the last year. I have the trekology 2 and it was my goto head pillow. I have the exped and it is my side pillow. I have tried all these pillows and others for a few nights each just sleeping next to my bed on my pad. Thank you rei and Amazon return policies. I found one not on your list and curious if you tried it. The OV “extended” pillow. It is my new new head pillow. Here is why I like it so far: - nice material like the trek2 - i specifically call out the extended because it sits higher than the trek2 (i have to put my sit pad under the trek2 to get it high enough) - it is 1oz lighter than the trek2 - like 2.6oz - it was cheaper than the trek2, i some how purchased it for $11, half the time they just throw it in for free - same curved design as your top pillows - non slip and pad strap capable - so far kind of digging the way it shapes around my ear a bit better than the trek2 It really has one con so far, but no way a deal breaker and that is the valve. It is kind of lame.

A super cheap way to add “insulation” to any pillow or sleeping pad that doesn’t have it is to get Insulbright from any fabric/craft store. Very cheap, light weight etc. you can cut it to the size you need, lay it between you and the pad or pillow. Makes a big difference.

I have bad luck with the Trekology: purchased it two times, replaced by a warranty three times, and gave up: the valve leaks during the night no matter what I do. If they ever change the valve to something more reliable, I may consider it again in the future. The same happens to Hikenture which I really liked for its shape, height and cover, but the valve is absolutely unreliable. For the time being, my choice is the Sea to Summit Aeros Premium and I like it. A friend swears by the Nemo Fillo which I intend to try soon.

Hi Justin, great video. I have super-wide shoulders and I’m a side-sleeper. My current setup is two pillows: the Trekology2 (for height/support) and the Nemo Fillow (partially inflated for comfort). I thought about this some more while out on a run and I think I have an idea that might work for you and be lighter than the current system you use. With the Exped megapillow, buy a piece of foam (maybe at the hardware store, craft store, or amazon). I'd probably go with 2-3in of moderate to low density foam. Kind of like what is used in the fillo. Cut the foam to the site of the megapillow. Then take off the pillow case from the megapillow, stuff and contour the foam inside. Put the bladder back in, inflate, and bob's your uncle! At that point, you probably have the most comfortable pillow ever made. Although it'll probably way around 350g or more.

Hello sir. I have a question for you and i hope that you have the time to answer it. I would like to have a honest answer from you and i hope not that you are misunderstanding the purpose of the question. The question(s) is: In your opinion, disregarding any sponsors, brands, manufactures, shops, deals, profits etc., has commercialised outdoor youtube channels materialised and sterialised the activity of going outdoor making it "synthetic", overshadowing the wonderfull and amazing creatures and creations in nature? Has nature, the flora and fauna become a mere sidenote to materialistic objects, personal achievements, winning "badges" and "checkmarks"? Has too many outdoor youtube channels become fully dependant on a continously stream and a evergrowing consumption of "newer, bigger, better"? I know that we all go outdoor for different reason, but its sad to see that nature itself, often has become something secondary. With all due respect sir, the only channels i truly enjoy watching is Swedwoods and Erik Normark. They focus on the core value of nature, the wildlife, the flora and fauna and dont care about the materialistic things. Thank you. Brian.
