The BMW X3 M Competition was BMW M's first entry into the Mid sized SAC & SUV market space. Since its launch a lot has changed, the X3 has undergone a mid life facelift and so has the X3 M. BMW promises a more grown up and refined drive. It fills a gap in the market that has become very popular in recent years. But what is the X3 M Competition like? With a brand new power plant which puts out 510HP it certainly is no slouch, we took this stunning white example out for a spin to find out if it drives as well as it looks.

I’m with you all the way I took delivery of mine in January every journey puts a smile on my face sit back and enjoy the drive. I love the comfort the firm ride, handling and performance is outstanding.

Great review of the X3M Competition. I've seen many, and this one is well done. I have the X3 M40i which is a beast itself. I've been doing my research and comparison trying to decide if the X3M Competition is worth it, and I believe this video did it for me. Fingers crossed and everything goes well for me, I'll be going in for the X3M Competition upgrade with my trade-in. P.S., I use the manual shift daily instead of the pedals, and it makes this beast soo much more fun to drive.

x3m and x3m40i are to very different cars, if you can't afford the "m" then the m40i will be ok, but I drove both and have the x3m and it is worth the price increase if you can afford it. I wanted a 911 4s which is slower and is some 150k more and it is ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT.....AT ALL..... this car does so much and well and you can do it with a washing machine in the back. get one., I'll pay the difference......;)

Matt. X3 M Competition 'Grunt'! What a soundtrack. Know two people ith 'current' model. Yes the ''issues'' are there but still an incredible machine. A Big SUV should not be this capable. And now even more so. Quite subtle too... perhaps? Could it be a genuine rival to the RR SVR? H'mmm something to consider. Thanks again. Great descriptive commentary.. Spot on!

I have the 69 plate original. Its a great car 32k runs perfect. Only problem seems to be the heated front seat elements been out. Mine stilopped working 2 days ago. Apart fro. That 20mg and rapid fits my 3 kids in job done.

Hello I own a bmw x3m competition, I find it an handful in the rain. I found it very snappy driving it in the rain during the recent weather. In the dry it is absolutely fantastic, traction is amazing but it was so scary driving in the heavy rain the past weeks in London. What's the best driving mode would you recommend, I was in sports mode but had to quickly change it efficient mode to calm the drive down. I am running stock Michelin tyres . HELP PLEASE 😂😂

All weather tyres make a massive difference. When the tyres are new they will grip in the wet, once slightly worn the car will skid in the wet. Pilot sport 4/5 s should be better in wet if you don't have them.

This over an x5m everytime. You can't get the x5m in 7 seats so don't see the advantage of the x5m

X5M is still the V8 so that's an easy choice every time for me.

..................X M3 "COMPETITION"...the Competition is and will be at repair shops keeping these HARD Riding / stiff twin Turbo 's in your HEADACHE / pocketbook Nightmare....Premium gas and 15 miles per gal!!! FreaK'n beeeeemer!
