BMW X3 M40i acceleration with and without Launch Control

We were curious to find out if Launch Control made a difference in one of our newest additions, the BMW X3 M40i. As you may know it comes with the B58 engine which is the same engine used in the A91 Supra, that we had on the channel. This engine is underrated and the numbers tell the story. But we were surprised by the numbers the M40i put up without launch control. The all wheel drive does its job very well, and the transmission is lightning fast. Let us know your experiences with the M40i or the B58 engine, or what mods you may have done.

if you hold it a bit longer in lc mode, it can actually reach over 3000 rpm before you release the brake.

Thank You for this comment. We are pinning it. We found this out after the video was released and found out that this can be done in non control mode also. I just ordered a x3 M40i two weeks ago and I made sure to get the Jet black wheels as shown w the high performance Non RFT , with the M sport diff as one of my opts. I can't wait to take delivery of this sleeper

Just picked up mine about a month ago. Brooklyn Grey with 20's and cognac leather. Love it but have not tested out it's potential yet, as it only has around 500 miles on the odo and need to fully break her in. Worth the wait and $$$. Love the start-ups ...sounds so exotic and distinct.

Very impressive truck and I’ve experienced the launch control and I was thrown back in the seat. The truck pulled real nice. Better to experience it first hand than watch it. 😅🍾

Really nice video. Does anyone knows if its true that BMW limits the number of launch controls you can do, and once you hit this limit it's no longer as quick?

Supposedly it's 50 times. After that it's said the car slows down. But no where is this documented. Thanks for watching.
