Conor Benn started his professional career in 2016. After a year and a half, he nearly fell to journeyman Cedrick Peynaud from France, being knocked down twice in the opening round. The judges saved him. He didn't manage to convince in the rematch either. The advances given out began to pay off from 2020.
The World Boxing Council (WBC) justified Conor and reinstated him in the rankings, while at the national level, the boxer's case is still not closed. However, this doesn't deter Benn and his promoter Eddie Hearn from making bold plans for the near future.
Benn is a distinctive puncher. He works off the jab with standard combinations (1-2s) and moves decently. Conor can't be called a boxer with a high boxing IQ as he often repeats himself, lacks creativity in his attacks, is sometimes inefficient, and at times, gets carried away with playing to the camera.
