I just got mine a couple weeks ago, does everything I need it to do for a daily driver. Used prices are so crazy, it made more sense financially than to get a used low mileage car. Not the nicest entry level sedan but cheaper than the civic/mazda3, and I trust it more than a Kia/Hyundai/Nissan long term. Way nicer than what I had before this, if you're coming from a 20+yo car like me it's still such a QoL upgrade. You are right that it's a little slow to downshift, especially on downhills, and the android auto is a bit finicky, but overall I am very happy. I'm getting ~40-41mpg on my first few fills with a healthy mix of highway and city, but I drive like a granny esp on break-in.

The 2023 Corolla LE with no options is the cheapest way to enter the new car Toyota family. More than ever these entry level base sedans are important given the crazy rise in car prices. There are actually lots of great choices in this category. For those financially savvy, the Corolla is a no brainer. For those who value some driving entertainment there are other better choices.

If I needed a new car, I would definitely purchase the 2023 Corolla LE. I am 60 years old and don't need anything other than a reliable, fuel efficient, low maintenance car that gets me to work and back safely. I can personally vouch for the reliability of a Corolla as I currently own a 2004 with 160K miles and a 2012 with 165K miles. Both run like new and never need anything other than routine maintenance. I plan on driving both my cars until the wheels fall off. Then, I will purchase another Corolla!

Me and my wife just got a 2023 SE hatchback - we couldn’t be happier. Incredible value; we drove it off the lot (with the extended warranty) for about the same price as a Civic Sport hatch *starting MSRP* ! It’s averaging 38.5 mpg across all driving conditions, handles like a dream, and is surprisingly peppy in Sport mode. The combination of size, features, cargo room, practicality, presumed reliability and value are unbeatable.

I don't know about the 2023 model but the 2024 Corolla comes with a physical launch gear for better take offs. We live in the country and do a lot of highway miles and I absolutely love that this car will get decent gas mileage and last for hundreds of thousands of miles. Not everybody likes that you can spend little money for a car that lasts forever but I do.

I just bought an overpriced 2023 SE model. I had no choice. I am very pleased with the car. Estimate on a full tank of gas is close to 400 miles. I do have driving modes (normal, sport, and eco) and I have both hand touch locks (just touch the handle if your FOB is nearby) and push button start. I think with all the driving assistance systems it has, it nearly could drive itself. I’m impressed and pleased. My wife has a 2020 LE and I do have to squeeze to get in her driver’s seat, but in my 2023, I have to stretch to touch the pedal with the seat all the way back and I am 6’0” tall. I did have a rattle that only showed up on a road under construction within 1.5 days of driving the car off the lot. I brought it back to the dealer, took a test drive with a mechanic and we found the cover on the camera above the rear view mirror causing it. He took double sided tape and tightened it up. No more rattling. He also was going to report it for redesign as it was the second new vehicle he found this in. I will say, now having the car just over a week, I am pleased with it and glad I bought it. If it had been the LE it would have been okay but I think I would be a little disappointed compared to the features that seem to be standard in the SE.

Sure the extra bucks for the Civic may be worth it if you put alot of emphasis on "fun" when it comes to driving but in terms of overall reliability and efficiency. Who can compete? Not sure I would ever recommend anything else for longevity and reliability. . I have just been really surprised with the drivability of Nissan’s new/updated CVT but I would however never bet on it being trouble free. Some more years are needed with the one. With car prices out of control I am just glad that there are manufacturers still making these compacts. Thanks again for the kind words and sharing your thoughts. That is very unfortunate. I called some dealers in the mid-Atlantic area and they all wanted 1-3k over for those on the lots or coming in soon. Why does the Corolla XSE hatchback cost near $30,000???🤔🤔🤔Is it because of the better styling of the HB?
@BeyondTheTestDrive
@BeyondTheTestDrive Жыл бұрын
Let’s see. The hatchback (SE) is priced at $24,240 USD and the XSE hatchback is $27,675. The hatch starts out a little more than the LE sedan but is better equipped with nicer wheels, etc. The XSE hatch has all the bells and whistles like an upgraded stereo, etc. Manufacturers make more profit on these better equipped models so the prices rise quickly. Hatchbacks are always perceived to be more premium and useful so they charge more. Honda and Mazda also charge a little more for their hatchbacks.
