I realize letting go of your house must have been very hard. It is a stunning house for sure. Remember that memories live in your heart and you carry them there wherever you go. Your next home, with your talent, will be just as stunning regardless of size.

I just found your channel today, and I LOVE your style. It's a grand home that isn't over done, quirky for the sake of being different, and it is not a pastiche of every "requisite" designer wallpaper and fabric. It is stylish and calming. It is absolutely beautiful. But I know as you go forward you will have a beautifully decorated home in your new space. But I know there is some sadness that comes with downsizing and relocating. This is the time of year I return to get a dose of those CHRISTMAS VIBES I need to get into in order to prepare for the holidays I’m in utter shock what led me here and soooooo sorry I haven’t been on here to know about all the changes you’ve been going through. My heart goes out to you - your spirit is such a loving spirit and I’m at a loss for words here. I thank you for being so brave to share your life with us KZfaqrs - (although that in itself is so hard to balance while trying to balance your life privately) I applaud your courage - (I know this past year has been so difficult for so many - I have watched my daughter go through a very traumatic separation but they haven’t arrived at the final step - divorce) I’m sorry to hear about your sad news in regards to selling - but as someone stated : YOU and YOU YOUR SPIRIT is what MAKES A PLACE A HOME… Wherever you go - there YOU will be … so take care of YOU and the rest will fall into place HEAL and RENEW your spirit.. HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS and your HEART SHALL SING AGAIN. Love you and praying for your transition You helped me when I was going through a deep dark depression and restored my faith in my favorite holiday season- CHRISTMAS .. you helped me bring it home again - I pray you continue to SHINE now even brighter🙏🏻

Well...a lot of the furniture stayed with the home..so that helped! But it was a ton of work for sure :)

Very pretty home….yes, but if it’s not filled with love & joy, then it’s just a house!!! I don’t know why but, your house seems lonely. It’s beautiful, but it doesn’t seem “lived in” or cozy. I have a friend whose house was massive. Her husband is a wealthy developer. They divorced & she downsized to a stunning home in Fla. She styled it with things “SHE” loved & reflected her personality… not cold like a magazine shoot. Now, when I go there… it’s not intimidating & you feel relaxed & enjoy being there! I believe she is now truly happy with her “real” friends!…. Luckily, her husband got to keep all the superficial friends in the divorce to flatter & impress…. along with his aloof personality.

Hi Lori, sounds like your friend made the right decision, glad she got herself out of that situation and is living a better life. Yes, it is definitely harder to style a large home to feel cozy. I volunteered this year at a Victorian mansion museum to decorate for Christmas. They have asked me back to help with High Tea’s & possible wedding decor next year.
