A masterpiece of a vehicle and I personally adore the manual only, the red interior (!!!), the hatchback and A to B nature of the vehicle. I will have kids in this thing eventually, and it’s an incredibly safe vehicle. Honda nailed it once again, a 10/10

Yes you can turn off Rev Match completely (that's in a separate menu than the driving mode settings). And YES you can turn off VSA and TC completely in any mode...to do that requires you to perform a special "pedal dance" while holding the parking brake, and do it in the proper order (similar to the 10th gen "pedal dance").

Love that Honda sticks with FWD !!!👌👌👌 Handling, And STOPPING are sooo important ; and FWD helps with these two abilities!!! HONDA knows FWD brings other things to the table instead of just focusing on speed. They are dominating Formula 1 they have enough data to make a faster vehicle, but Honda doesn’t just aim for speed, they think of the Overall performance of the vehicle!!!🙏 It fits 4 persons while also being a Track vehicle!!! This is why I would go with the Honda Type R. 🙂

Lol! when he said, "Honda would sell a ton more of these if they made them automatic." Honda has absolutely no problem with sales of this car..in fact they are almost impossible to get so dealerships are charging 25K markups here in SoCal.

I have a Civic Si Coupe and it's really fun to drive and has tons of power. However, for my next car, I'd love to have a Type R. They look so nice and beyond fun to drive. I would love to test drive one someday. I hope I can drive one someday.

What you are referring to as Torque steer is actually just "traction" steer... Old fashioned Torque steer is explained later in my comment. Rear wheel drive cars with LSD experience the same traction issue when one wheel has more traction than another Torque steer also. however, the affect on how the car drives is very different... traction steer in a Front drive car, pulls you either the left or right... and in a rear wheel drive car, it kicks the back end out and you can counter it with opposite lock. Many years, and I'm min 20 years ago, if you had a front wheel drive car and it had a "bit of power", and you floored it, you would notice that as the car picked up speed and the engine revs picked up, you had to slowly turn the wheel to either right or left to stop the car going in the opposite direction... an it happened absolutely every single time you floored the peddle, puling the car in the same direction that the engine torque was pulling the car. So yeah, what people refer to as Torque steer in a modern performance front wheel drive car, is NOT that same as old fashioned torque steer... it's simply traction steer which is the same thing a rear wheel drive experiences. Modern LSD and suspensions, traction control systems can however essentially get rid of all old fashioned torque steering from a high power Front Wheel Drive vehicle.

You are 100% correct to point out the misnomer in the video. The reason for torque steer is/was caused by asymmetrical drive shaft lengths. This frequently occurs in FWD or front-biased AWD cars, especially when the engine is transversely oriented. Thus you don't get torque steer in cars with symmetrical AWD like many Subarus. I wouldn't say it is really gone in modern cars, though; some sports cars just use clever tricks to tune it out one way or another, but it's never completely gone in any affordable FWD car.

Before the first allocation for Fl5 one dealer quoted 50K over via phone. I live in nyc and this was a nj dealer. But in the end I got in a list for msrp getting one soon

@@hassyg4083 Its a very good & fast vehicle, good value overall, yes priced pretty high but it is total quality - they went for German Quality with mk11 Type R! so it makes sense why its priced higher, it does pack all the practicality with daily drivability and a great looking sports vehicle in styling

I love how Parker said the shifter feels better than anything BMW has made, that’s saying a lot considering Parker has had access to to basically any manual BMW ever and BMW is regarded as a much more prestigious brand than Honda

That gauge cluster screen is far too small. And the interior is about as basic as the base Civic, especially in the back. Nice performance car, but FWD only and that cheap ass interior are hard to swallow for $50k+

I had an fk8 for 5 years before I bought this, I ended up selling it to get this and all I can say is that car was bloody sensational. It does everything so well in terms of driving and when I heard this was coming out I had to get it. If you get a chance to thrash one I highly recommend taking it for a spin.

Spoken like a typical bimmer owner. Don’t worry I am too. Owned e46 m new, e90 m new and got gr86 now and strictly only owned and driven rwd cars with manual. But current bmw doesn’t do it for me. G87 m2 or this and I got in a list for the type r at msrp
