Absolute megas have been good this year. Ripped 3 so far got cj stroud rookie 3 numbered relics and a explosive card!!

If I got the Gibbs jersey card in a box I ripped I’d consider it a success! Overall though you don’t get much value out of most megas.

I really like the inserts in Illusions, wish they held better value tho. I've only pulled one auto this year from R&S blaster.

im curious Sam, if your willing to pay around $200 in for retail illusion's why not just buy a hobby box?? its only $350 and you get 2 autos, 3 mems and countless numbered cards!!!

A few reasons! I paid half the cost of a hobby box, and get to open 5 boxes total, that’s a longer “ripping experience” in comparison to a hobby, and I leave feeling better considering probably 90%+ of hobby boxes don’t get anywhere near a good return on them. I can make 2-4 videos out of the $200, when 1 hobby box is $400 and done within 10-20 minutes for a single video. It just isn’t super justifiable to buy hobby boxes nowadays, I’d rather take my chance and lower cost with retail to see if I can pull something cool! Obviously there are other takes, but that’s my thoughts haha

@@Vikings95 understandable! I ripped 75% retail during my hay day lol, and in my 9+ years or so of opening I think I've got my return on hobby once, maybe twice lol! But the way I see it if your willing to spend that much at once (apposed to buying one mega @ $50 or blaster @ $30) I dont see you getting a return when spending that much, when you can spend roughly the same amount and have a much better chance at a return in investment!! On the flip side I do get your thought process, it's more for us the viewer and the experience/ length, rather then making a profit!! I was just curious btw Sam, no shade at all! Cause like I said I ripped mostly retail 😂

Ouch. Maybe like $10-15 value. Even if you hit a holoheroes you’d be lucky to break even at $50 a box. Looking at the values of 2022 the Olave rookie holohero just sold for 10.50. Illusions is an easy no buy.

Panini didn't start the downfall. Ask Sam. Before the horrendous covid invasion, they did just fine. It's the deep pocketed covid invading scumbag scalpers/secondary market sellers/WhatFnNot/Wannabe breakers that caused the collapse of the hobby. If you think Fanatics is the answer, you're insane. They are already screwing up baseball and are involved in a ton of scandal already.

Competition helps to push innovation. Fanatics could advance the Sportscards Hobby with their other business ventures, but Panini Case Hits have always been collectible. In the age of Overproduction since 2017, Panini cards are doing better than Topps or Upper Deck. Panini has had a profound impact on changes in the Sportscards Industry - Rainbow of Colors, Printing Technology, Case Hits (Topps and Upper Deck has as had by Odds). Kaboom! are still my favorite Case Hits. The Holo Heroes have been nice to find, but the values were the worst from Panini for Case Hits. There is no guarantee that Fanatics will improve NFL and NBA Products once they take over with the monopoly of the big three Sports. We can only hope things get better - but, Topps Flagship is massively Overprinted. 🤓
