Im Thrilled to say that I finally got my Dream Car in January~ 2023 F-Type P450 AWD Coupe with all the bells and whistles. I live in NE FL and we have unpredictable monsoons, hence the AWD and the Coupe. I grew up helping my dad in the garage on his corvettes that he used to drag race in So. California and have had a life long passion for sports cars in particular. The lines on this car are so seductive and it handles like the dream that it is. Easy Peasy. I’m 5’0 so I did had to get a driving pillow to sit on (but thats my issue not Jaguars 😂) and it holds all three of my small pet carriers in the back easily after I took out the removable trunk cover. The guy at the dealership asked me how long do I think I’ll be keeping this car… “Sir, I’ll be buried in this car one way or the other. That’s why the color was so important😂”.

Had 2 F-types Convertible: v8 S Rwd first, then R awd. Loved them both, never had any issue. Great cars

All cars have flaws. Life is too short to not get the vehicle you want, so long as the problems are reasonable….Which is most definitely the case with the F-type, despite what the bandwagon uninformed Internet echo chamber says/thinks. JLR has had its share of problems, but this particular car in their line-up is about as problem free as it gets for a JLR product. There have been no sweeping changes to the car over the years, just small changes and refinements.

I miss mine, phenomenal urgent power, especially pre newer model sound nerf. But I sold it after a year, by 30k miles it had, or was you could tell about to start having just about every common problem from the facebook owner groups. There's a reason you were depreciating a 4-5 year old R down to 50k or so when it was 100k new.

I drive the absolute shit out of mine and it's tuned with an exhaust and high flow cats and down pipes. The only issue I've ever had was an injector and coolant hoses. It was expected because I have 92k miles. Was my daily for a while. I need to start some KZfaq videos and just let the exhaust do the talking.

what a soundtrack. beautiful gearbox, superb body style. Nice to get some sticky summer tires under it. A lot of performance for a very reasonable amount.

What I really like is the manual control of the infotainment and not too many screens like the modern BMWs etc which are all mega touchscreens which is a faff when driving (I don’t own either!)

This is one of the few sport scars that looks better in roadster form with the top up than the coupe. BTW I always discover new music when Topher tests out the sound system.

Yeah. Nope. Not even close. Part of a 50+ Ftype club in my parts. The coupe is way better looking - better lines and thats the general consensus all over the world in multiple ftype owner forums, etc. However, i will say the freedom you feel sitting in a convertible is awesome. But no harm in having an outlier opinion ;-)

'16 with 40k miles, easily 30k of them being hard miles. Only thing I thought seemed premature was differential bushings needing replaced, but again, 30k hard miles. I will say, the stereo sucks.

@mac joseph I have xfr 116k miles no mechanical issues at all. Things like my rear windows have went out. My GPS needed an update..that's pretty much it. Only thing I've changed was the battery twice. Starter. And fuel pump. Owned since 2018

The HVAC unit going up and down is something that has a high probability of “Breaking” over time. I tend to keep my cars well into six figure mileage. I’m cross shopping this with the LC500.

It’s easy to fix yourself if you are so inclined, but you are not wrong. They say it is a weak point. That said, not a reason to buy an LC necessarily…The LC is a slow vehicle compared to an F-type R if performance is a priority. Real world number on those LCs 0-60 are often low to mid 5s. That is very different than the 0-60 of 3.4-3.5 on an F-type R. The f-type will do that consistently all day long, often getting closer to low 3s. On this alone, these are totally different vehicles. It really depends on what you are looking for. All cars have their thing. Even LCs if you read the forums.

@@dlj1285 I plan on trading in my 2020 Supra for my last “ICE” car. I’m thinking an ICE car that will last well into the new sea of EV’s!! I’m not looking for outright speed, just cruising and low maintenance fun. I think the LC with the v8 sound should last a long time!!

@@Rickster1965 Oh it will for sure last a long long time. I have 2 Toyota products in my driveway. I’m a fan. Not a more reliable brand out there obviously. That matters more for daily drivers in my head. As long as a car is not a travesty for reliability and meets my performance goals and vibe requirements I don’t really care. The Lexus would certainly be the more pragmatic sensible choice. This purchase for me, however, is meant to be the complete opposite of that. If you are looking at an LC, no doubt you are reading the forums. They have all kinda of little problems as well. There is no perfect vehicle. Enjoy that LC. I saw one in person. Absolutely beautiful. If I wasn’t going with a F-type r it might well be one of them. The choices are becoming quite limited I find, at least for my wants and price point.

Honestly it's the best part about the car, your driving a tablet, most f type owners don't turn the music on, it makes its own. Just drive it, it's a fairly simple car, which is why it's very reliable.

Great exterior but I would like a bit more of an exciting color. I wonder if mechanics take the hood off to work on these cars. The interior is a bit common, though. Not quite special enough to match the exterior. If you want a sports car, this is a sports car. I need something quieter but that's not what this car is about.

Superb car. It would be perfect if it had a manual and physical controls for the infotainment. Speaking of the infotainment, it's a shame that you didn't showcase its UI. That's my only complaint with this video. Apart from that, you've done a great job on this one. Edit: Also, you mentioned the cool stuff you can do with the speedometer screen but didn't showcase any of it.

best part about the jaguar f type is the classy understated interior, not like some blinged up trash mountain that is merc etc, the sound system isnt the best ill admit, but you dont exactly buy it for that. Well built, yep aluminium monocoque, aluminium chassis (excl subframe) very reliable and beautiful to look at. Love mine, trouble free so far. You have to maintain them though, same as any performance car. Goes like stink.
