Jeep sent me the newly refreshed 2023 Jeep Compass Red Edition. New turbo engine and transmission go a long ways to make this small crossover one of the best on the market.

The ergonomics, practicality, and intuitiveness of Jeeps (or FCA products in general) seems to be one of the main reasons why many people love those vehicles. They're just easy to live with...no learning curve needed....the team def spent lots of time in that area (thank god). Love me some physical redundant buttons and fast tech that's easy to use. I really wish other manufacturers could learn a thing or two in that dept from this/these brands. We are supposed to be one with the machine not the other way around

And the style of looks. FCA or whatever it’s called now. Is maybe not the most reliable but for someone that leases a vehicle 3 years. It’s perfect.

Fantastic review! I bought a 2020 Compass Sport brand new 2.5 years ago, and I love it! I also had a fix-a-flat kit, but shortly replaced it with a full spare tire with a matching wheel and tire brand; the cutout in the back is sufficient it. Glad that Jeep upgraded the motor in the new model.

Good review, looks like a nice ride for 2023. Picked up a '23 CX-5 PP for my wife in February and it's been flawless. One reason we got it is it's made in Japan. The Compass is made in Mexico and Jeeps haven't been known for their reliability, so there's that. Saw one dealership advertise 15% off so there are deals to be had now. Looks like the Compass is a little narrower than the CX-5.
@ShadyVibes

43k is just if you want the Red edition which is pretty much a fully loaded one. As Kirk said, all you really need is the Sunroof and Alpine Speakers..of which you can add to the Latitude trim and be out the door for 34-35k not to mention all the incentives/rebates that Jeep has for their vehicles. Main thing if you're purchasing this vehicle is the standard Jeep 4x4, fun styling, intuitive layout, and new engine/trans combo because this pairing is much more reliable than the old setup

@ShadyVibes
@ShadyVibes Жыл бұрын
@@davidxavier1396 Hey man, I’m being realistic as far as pricing goes (I never said anything about recommending this vehicle). Need to remember that other SUVs in its class are also in the 30k range so it’s not unheard of….unless you aren’t aware of the insane inflation of the segment in general. Plus the new engine has been proven to be decently reliable since it’s been used for several years in the wrangler...it’s way better in every aspect compared to the old lackluster Tigershark 2.4. I’m not saying you should buy this vehicle (I wouldn’t) but many people only see 43k and believe that’s the whole story. So I’m just trying to help clarify for those that care. Cheers

This would be a nice rental car to get compared to a frumpy and random Nissan. P.S. you should become a sunglasses guy (polarized for max protection) in Florida or you’ll hurt your eyes and age worse. If what you don’t like about sunglasses is darkness look at an amber colored lens. They can make a cloudy day feel more vibrant.

I bought my 2022 Jeep Limited red addition about 5 months ago. I absolutely love it. ❤️ this was the first time I ever bought a brand new vehicle it only had 14miles on it when I purchased it. I paid full price. I will never forget I paid $44,633.96 I didn't want any payments. And i would do it all over again. And it's great for very tall men or women. My son is 6,7 and and is very comfortable no complaints. I love being part of the Jeep community. And enjoy finding my Easter eggs. I love the cooling seats for everyone❤ oh and the Jeep app on my phone Love it. I can look at anything and everything. It shows everything that's going on with your car. You can start your car lock your car to your phone. It gives you alerts when it's time to do your oil change Plus a lot more in that app. I just love my Jeep it was me for me. I love red and black my two favorite colors. This will be the last vehicle that I own in my life hopefully. And I would not trade it for the world I love it that much.❤❤❤ Jeep wave 👋

I didn’t know that Jeep placed the 2.0t in the Compass. I thought they would’ve placed a Turbo 3 cylinder once they discontinued the 2.4. I know it’s a detuned version from the Cherokee, Wrangler, and Alfa Romeo models, but I’m kinda shocked it’s a good motor.

One can get a Subaru Outback w/ turbo, or almost up to a Tesla LR Model Y, after rebate, for $43,000. Been shopping at this exact price range and it would have been Model Y if not for ground clearance issues in the snow w/ our oddly steep and sharply angled driveway. Y is still an option w/ an aftermarket lift kit, for another $2k or so installed, but the house will also require electrical upgrades.. So looking realistically at $50k for the Model Y, versus $43k for the Outback or Compass. Over time though, the initial savings from going w/ gasoline vehicles will get eaten up by the costs of fuel and maintenance. If inflation gets out of hand, doubly so. The car is for my elderly parents, so the auto braking safety tech in both the Subaru and Tesla are also a factor. The Jeep doesn't even enter the equation, all things considered..

No, thankfully the 2.0T is very unproblematic. I do wish it had the same power output as the Cherokee and Wrangler. I have a ‘21 Cherokee Latitude Lux with the 2.0T and it just rolled past 50k miles. Literally has never burned any oil. It’s a very solid engine. I do find it interesting that the Compass engine has the same compression ratio, but has a lower output. Also, no more auxiliary battery. The 2.0T has a larger amp alternator. I did notice the engine bay is a bit cramped on this. I am curious if this 8 speed is a Chrysler design or outsourced by another supplier.
