Currently can't afford anything from your store but great video. I would love to own a 400 cc super sport. I have a neck issue that prevents me from riding long distance in an aggressive riding position so I ride a z650. How does this 400 compare to the z 650 in riding stance and also 1/4 mile power? Thanks have a great day.

@@kawasaki_kid8704 If/when you can. There are no tracks in my state, no roads that are reasonably able to be taken above 80, and we're at 9 motorcycle fatalities so far this year in my county out of 30 vehicle fatalities. If the roads and traffic won't let you go above 80, why get more? Before you bring up filtering/splitting, the lanes usually aren't wide enough on most of the roads, and minimal shoulders before you're eating concrete/steel or falling 200+ feet. It's been a common discussion point on Reddit that you don't bring a 600/liter bike to my state because you won't get to enjoy it, so this is a pretty damn good bike by comparison.

Honestly, is the bike a little pricey? It is, unfortunately. However, it's just as you said numerous times, it's a blast! I've had mine for 3 weeks now and I don't regret it in the slightest. It feels like it's great through the week to commute on, then go for a casual ride with the father, and then a spirted ride after without beating your body up. It feels like the perfect bike for every situation, making them all fun. No regrets, and glad to hear you enjoying it as well!

@@mightymike20 Probably not. I had a 2013 Ninja 300 fresh off the lot until I traded it in on this bike. 10 years of that lead to confidence to have a blast with it, and confidence feels amazing. Similarly, having too much for the street and not being able to use it is frustrating. No matter how fast a bike is, or how good a rider you are, you just sulk behind the Smith family minivan who pulled out in front of you on the windy part of the way home. Not to mention, the ZX4R is actually comfortable. Props to the people who find true supersports comfortable, I know I sure as hell don't find the 6R to be. I wouldn't dream of a 3-4+ hour ride on it, especially damn near every weekend. Just not my cup of tea. For those it is? Awesome. I intend to keep this bike for a long, long time. I loved my 300, but this is a next level blast.

I picked mine up late last week and I love it!! Paid $10,400 out the door for mine. There are only 6 here in my state, all sold of course. Just like Yammie, ordered mine late last year. Glad I did. An out of state friend of mine was looking to pick one up. He was quoted $14,695 out the door. Pretty wild to see mark-ups like this, but not at all surprising. For those of you who have ordered one, but haven't taken delivery yet, to turn on the quick shifter, 1). Hold down the select button on the right handlebar and 2). Hold down arrow on the left handlebar. Do this action at the same time and it will enable the KQS. Do the exact same thing to disable the KQS. Hope that helps.

I do remember the ZZR making plenty of noise strafing Japanese streets at high revs and noise levels while going not that much faster than the posted speed limit. Good times. Let the Good Times Roll.

@venomous2die4

@@domesticrifles4068 all bikes out the door are more expensive than their advertised prices. That being said, go buy an ninja 400 then add all of the tech that comes on the zx4rr including the brand new tech of a 399 cc motor (first run will always be more expensive) AND the fact that hopefully and eventually, we get the zx4rs and zx4r (less tech, less price) here in the US and then out the door should drop closer to 10.5-11k, still pricey, yes, but if it gives me the entire 81hp (doesn't) off of the showroom floor, I think the price is justified. Watching vids of people passing zx6r's and other 600 class SS bikes on a pararellel twin 400 leads me to believe that this little monster would be even better at it. Slightly less overall weight than a zx6r, much less rotational mass in the motor, yeah I can already see the vids of people smoking 600cc bikes on this (if it had the stock 81hp that was advertised). THEN also fully tune the motor with better breather, exhaust and full tune and I can really see close to 95hp in a 400... not a bad package in my opinion. I'm going to wait until we get the lower tech options zx4r before I jump on it for a better out the door price.

local dealer selling this for 10k so definitely looking to pick it up. From watching this really seems like a perfect starter bike for those with a little more money and want something less bland than a ninja 400. It's got enough power to commute anywhere and then some but it gains it gradually. Sound is bad ass, feels like you're going fast thanks to the high revs and WOT and you can do it while keeping to speed limits

Would like to see a comparison vs the R7. That is probably the ZX4’s biggest competition for a $10k twisty road hero. While the Kawi may be down on the specsheet i feel it makes up for in tech, comfort, and has the inline 4 flavor. The R7 seems it may be better suited for the track over the ZX4. But it seems like Kawi may have made this bike for those who want to play motoGP on the street without going to jail

Dyno's I've seen on the North American version of this bike have topped out in the mid 50hp range stock so will be interesting to see how it compares to a Ninja 400 considering how much more it weighs. Electronic remap gains put it much closer to Kawasaki's claims and would definitely be a "must do" mod to get full power/performance that more closely matches its premium price.

i think the big appeal for this bike is in canada (ontario specifically) and the eu a2 license category. in both places it’s very hard to get a 600cc for a very long time, but if i could get the sound and feel in a smaller package rather than waiting 3 years it’s totally worth it to me imo edit: my fault i thought that a2 were unrestricted bikes such as the r7 or cbr650r. didn’t realize those bikes are still restricted. its not A2 legal, a2 is like 48 horse or something (the cbr500 is right at the edge for A2 at 47), this thing is in the 70s. Here in Singapore, we have the Honda CB400SF, also known as Honda Super 4, with an inline 4 cylinder engine. Considered the best in its restricted (Under 400CC) class, with Vtec to pull you through to 180KPH. Got a feeling this is going to be the likely replacement for the CC class, as Honda has stopped the production of the super 4.

Lol, blowing engines for less power than a stock ZX-6R, while weighing the same or more (adding a turbo is not light weight, you'd probably want 2x GT-06 turbos, but since those are discontinued then 2x VZ-21 turbos could work however they are severely lacking in quality). I'm not sure what the ideal turbo for an inline 4 400cc would be though, so that could be optimized. The only thing is it would sound cool, but otherwise be terrible. I mean I drive a wankel rotary car, so meh, I'm not going to say sounds of an engine screaming as it pops and booms flames out the tailpipe isn't worth it (because it is), but its far from "perfect bike". It would be inferior to the 6r in every way except maybe sound from turbos (and you could also just turbo the 6r for the same price, so its all perspective)

Nice review. It's a pretty cool little bike but way too expensive & it should definitely have had fully adjustable suspension. I think the forks do have preload adjustment on the RR though. They have the 250 i4 version in Asia. Imagine how crazy that would be redlining in several gears to 15k at legal speeds lol.

I just got an FZ6R. It reminds me of this bike. It's a 600, though. Even though it's a 600, it's not a super sport. I can Rev the inline 4 out and hear it sing. I love how smooth the inline 4 is and love my FZ6R, and I only paid 6K for one with only 500 miles. There is no way this ninja is worth 9k, much less the markup price.
