You mention and show a silver king. I have a 1945 general electric portable welder with a Hercules 1xb5 motor often used on the silver kings. Haven't tried to get any tune up parts for quite a while.

Dave, Angie, thanks for the tour. It's the only way I get to see these shows so far from me. I can only go to one major show out of state, already been there!

Hi Angie, Dave and the rest of the family! Wish I could make it sometime. Just a note, tell Danny he forgot the second two on the title card, no biggie. We all know it was a boo boo anyone can make when they are in a hurry.

I'm from Iowa and it's not real common to see propane tractors in this area. Why does it seem like there are so many more propane tractors in Kansas? Is it because of all the gas and oil wells in the area so it makes the propane fuel less expensive?
@CrazyDEquipment11 ай бұрын
Yeah propane was really cheap I had an old farmer one time tell me that his dad converted everything to propane because it was three cents a gallon when gas was 25 cents a gallon
@slundgr11 ай бұрын
@@CrazyDEquipment Some farmers would set up their pickups to run off butane or gas, since they would have a butane tank in the back of the pickup for filled up the tanks of the butane powered tractor or combine. Another reason might be because the butane regulator can be temperamental in colder climates and they won’t start as easily if they are outside and not in a shed. You do sacrifice some horsepower with butane compared to gas or diesel powered engines.

I still have propane tractors and still love it, there’s a plant just south of town 😊😊😊

Propane. We converted about 1964 with the John Deere G, John Deere A, John Deere 95 combine and had 4 row 36" corn head. The engines ran so much cleaner. The oil was immaculate. It was cheaper. We even put the farm pickup on propane.
