Lucid is finally hitting its stride building EVs that bring performance, range, technology and properly luxury touches. They claim the Air is "The longest range, fastest  charging luxury electric car in the world."
After spending a week with this Touring version of the Air, I can fully agree. It has an amazingly low coefficient of drag, strong electric range, innovate features like the front trunk, movable center screen and great infotainment.
I left this car properly impressed, and now there is the entry level Pure models, the top tier (ridiculously fast) Sapphire and an upcoming SUV. I wholeheartedly believe this is the best luxury EV you can buy right now, and would definitely consider one if I was currently shopping. The paint quality isn’t the best. Using a elcometer, the thickness of the coat paint not the best for a luxury car or 6figure. not the best sedan. Exterior wise it’s not. There are other more aggressive looking sedans. It has 3rd party charging stations that ccs plus is unreliable. I mean I can talk about the cons of this car, still not the best ev sedan. Software is not the best, could laggy at times

The hating is obvious. It's tesla owners and lovers that are people that hate on everything they can't afford. Much like the taycan. They will justify and say anything they can aa too why tesla is better but in reality they just can't afford it. It's obviously a way better looking, has better range, and it actually has luxury. People hate on what they cant afford. How the world works.

Most people choose a Tesla over a Lucid Air because a Tesla has more affordable options while Lucid only has 2 at the moment which aren’t a affordable vehicle for most people. But in terms of quality, room, and comfortness, I’d give it to Lucid.

Pretty good review, surprised it doesn't have more views. I do have a couple qucik comments though. Most people in the market for a Lucid (starts at $69,900) have the ability to put a 240v socket where they park their cars. The charger that comes with each Lucid can easily add 300 miles of range or more overnight. Most owners only charge at home when not making overnight trips. Lucid has an arraignment with the Electrify America charging network that allows easy plug-n-charge charging when on long trips, but of course the car is compatible with all CCS chargers. In my personal experience the issues some have had with the charging networks are overstated and service is definitely getting better. The Lucid's range makes charging not really a big deal. In two years of touring my Lucid I haven't had any major inconveniences. About the suspension- some reviewers miss that this is a real "driver's car." The suspension is set up for driver engagement and handling rather than complete isolation from the road. Consider that Lucid's engineers benchmarked the design on BMW's M5. The ride is sporty, without being harsh. CEO rawlinson previously ran engineering at both Jaguar and Lotus. I love my Air GT after two years of trouble-free ownership. The 819hp on the GT is not really needed, but is quite enjoyable in Smooth mode, where power rolls on like a well tuned naturally aspirated German V12 of decades past, butter smooth yet authoritative.

I absolutely love the car but my only concern is the longevity of Lucid itself. I’d buy one now if I was certain it’d be around in 5 years.

Brother I'd bet my life they are around. They literally have money to make superbowl commercials. U think they are having problems with money? They have endless supply to keep it afloat and even if they don't some brand will easily pick them up. Their cars look too good and offer too much not to succeed

The problem with all these expensive vehicles is what do these manufacturers think market for over $70,000 vehicles is? I mean we are talking over $1,000 payments regardless of whether you purchase or lease.

@@vickykennel7414 60k car 5 years ago where still expensive for average americans... Also used cars sales is double the new ones. SO most second hand buyers won't fork $50k for an used Lucid, and Lucid owners will not sell it for $30k

I agree. I’m a fan of Lucid and think they’re fantastic cars. But if they are going to thrive as a company, sooner or later they need to come up with a car that is relatively easily accessible by the masses, ie one in 40-50k range.

The Model S and X refresh from a couple of years ago gave us non-Alcantara branded micro suede plus other upgraded materials. So did the just released "highland" refresh for Model 3. The same will be the case for Model Y with the "juniper" refresh. Don't mislead people because your sore Tesla doesn't give you a press car.

Tesla has 0 luxury. It's not a luxury brand. The fit and finish of a porsche and cars like this are just night and day. U can touch the steering wheel and dash.. and feel the difference of quality between tesla and actual luxury high end brands. Tesla cars look like basic traffic. Their so plain jane and dull. Being in a tesla doesnt feel like ur in something special or expensive and it's the same as seeing one.

True dat. The host doesn’t talk about the negative side. Tesla ruined the car prices only when you think a car is an asset. Lucid software is like a blackberry compared with an iPhone. No meaningful updates. Don’t own a car that the company won’t be around in 3 years.

I WOULD NOT get the Canopy and I'm glad Lucid offers a Full metal roof at no cost (From what I can Tell). Imagine the cost to repair the Canopy glass when you get a major rock chip or glass just beaks, who is going to repair that, Factory only. No thanks. also on the Air Touring/Grand Touring the Glass Canopy is a $4k option.

Good car but the company has a poor strategy. They refuse to recognize other ev brands as their competitors. Only see themselves up against BMW Mercedes and Audi. Unfortunately, if the market doesn’t think so then it’s a poor strategy.

10:55 This guy didn't do any homework getting ready for this review. It's not the drag; all EV cars are slippery. Lucids efficiency comes from their motor design. They developed motors with a new winding technology that reduces electrical losses and enhances thermal management. It's like he didn't even watch other people's videos. He also didn't realize that Tesla lowering prices puts essentially all EV buyers underwater. Does he even follow cars?

Everybody doubted Tesla's ability to survive as a real car manufacturer in the early years, especially with the Tesla Roadster. Look where they're now. Secondly, you have to take into consideration that Tesla had not very much competition by the time the Model S was produced in the beginning. Lucid has a lot more competition to deal with. Let's see where they'll be in ten years from now.

Model S looks like basic traffic. This car actually looks futuristic ans head turning. Not to mention this car actually has LUXURY. Like porsche and bmw u can just touch the steering wheel and dash and feel the quality difference to that of tesla. Lucid has better range. More luxury. Looks better. What more could u want.

@@vickykennel7414 In the short term Lucid will be fine but in the long term, not so much. You can always keep pouring money into a failing endeavor but at some point you will have to cut your losses. Again, you still haven't answered these basic business questions: what are Lucid sales numbers in 2023 and how much profit is Lucid making on each vehicle delivered?

Nice car, but no luxury. Very drab, plain and boring interior. I'll stick with my S Class. The Best or Nothing. And my 7 Series. The Ultimate Driving Machine. And my Range Rover Sport. Above and Beyond. No EVs for my garage.

@@vickykennel7414speeding in an ev is like having sex with earplugs in. Only ur body feels it. Real sports cars hit and fill ur entire senses. Way more of a visceral experience. My dad has a 992 targa gts and I get to drive time to time. The engine alone is what makes me want to drive it any chance I get. The revs the down shifts when approaching a red light. It's just insane. Yea it fast but so is my bmw m3. The interior and overall driving dynamics and experience can't be matched.
