$52,000 That's about 350+ nights at Holiday Inn Express. We spend about 5 to 6 weeks a year on the road but If we don't travel we don't have a monthly bill to pay. All RV's are over priced for now.
@NYandAZ

@@stankygeorge I f’ing those features very appealing. My husband drives for 4 days each way about 4-5 times a year. He refuses to pay for a hotel room because he’s afraid of being robbed of the stuff in his trailer. It is extremely unsafe for him to sleep, he has to try to sleep in a bench seat in a F-450, he doesn’t want to use the truckers bathrooms and he only eats fast food. This is something that we could afford and I would even be able to travel with our animals and pull it with my Wrangler. I think it’s fabulous for what we’d need it for. It would only be necessary for the next 3-5 years and then after that, we could choose to sell or buy a larger more plush one that feels like home. The only thing I’d miss if I were back there with our dogs would be a big tv. He’s handy, so I’m sure he would figure something out. Love this.

If $52k is the price, I can't even afford to waste my time watching the video! I'll wait for the market to crash and buy something twice the size and half the price that can tow my Wrangler! That price is beyond ridiculous! Shouldn't be more than $20k for anything that small!

The price of campers these days vs staying in a hotel makes you wonder why buy one. If you spend $5000 a year on a vacation it would take you 10 years plus to offset price. Over 10 years you would have repairs storage, camp ground fees, interest ,tires, insurance ,gas to tow and wear on the vehicle used to move it, so is it worth it. They are nice but no longer practical
@OMGWTFLOLSMH

People don't buy trailers to save money. They want to sleep in nature, in their own bed with their own stuff surrounding them, without living out of a suitcase. Lots of people are also into boondocking off the beaten path, which you can't do in a hotel. Plus, these things retain their value somewhat. Use it for 5 years and sell it, and with inflation and because of the cool retro look, I bet you can get a good buck for it. But I agree with you, RV camping can be expensive. It's not for me, I think it's a waste of money. I watch these videos to see what I might buy if I ever win the lottery. Personally I think I'd go with a custom build van, based on the Ford Transit with raised roof and AWD.
@cbaker9667
@cbaker9667 10 ай бұрын
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH I'll also add you can visit friends and bring your bed/kitchen/bath to park in their yard or driveway. We have two kids who live out of state, one of which is maxed out on bedrooms/bathrooms. I don't want to check in hotels, haul my things inside, park my vehicle where it won't be damaged or broken into, bring my pets. There are tons of reasons why I prefer a camper to a hotel, but saving money isn't one of them.

It looks like the design, build, unique features, and overall quality is equal to Airstream. We had a Freedom Sport 25 years ago which was smaller with a pop top, slept 3 and had no bathroom. This one more closely matches the 2 berth . Fantastic little van. We bought it for £3k but had to sell when our second child reached 4 and was too heavy for the childs bed we rigged up for her. Some great holidays. Easy to tow and manoeuvre. It would have fitted in the garage if we had had less junk in there. Have missed it greatly since the kids have grown and left. Bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in.

So cute however 👎 that price is not justified. Since COVID the camping arena has been flooded with trailers - people cannot get sites because campgrounds are over booked or booked out 1 yr in advance. Not to mention the cost to camp has also soared out of control. The average family can NO longer afford to take a simple vacation. So sad 😞

The lack of campsites in state parks is why I sold my 2017 T@B last year.

The price is high that is true. However, this is a camper for all those folks who have small SUV's or other vehicles with a 3500 lb tow capacity. To get the Basecamp would also mean getting a larger tow vehicle, which would add another 25-30 K to the cost of the Basecamp, and now the cost is 52k for this vs 85-90K for a Basecamp. The real competition for this is not Airstream but other lightweight fiberglass small trailers such as Scamp or Casita. This trailer is quite a bit more than those though, so it is a tough call to make.

I agree, it’s so cute, I love everything about it, the color, the style, but it does need a screen, and air con. I don’t know who can afford it. If they’re rich, I’m sure they’d want more and a bigger trailer for their money. Even at 1/2 price, like others mentioned, it’s still too high. Also, the heater in the shower? It seems like it could melt the shower curtain, or water could get inside. I’d be curious as to how well these sell.

It has an AC unit. Screen? It has window screens. The heat for the shower is the Alde hot water system. There is no shower curtain. The bathroom door has a lip and keeps water inside the wet bath.

I like it. Doubt for us older folks it would be fun setting up that bed each night and trying to put a sheet on it. This video was very professionally done in everyway.

Super cute but I'm thinking some where in the neighborhood of about 50% of the price. Even 26K seems a little steep.

Very nice new camp highly prized, but not rugged enough to go out into the desert or into the mountains too low to the ground he would be hitting not enough clearance but nice

I bought my 980sq.ft. ,3 bedroom, one bath house 23 years ago for $26,000.00. I would never consider buying this camper for their outrageous price. It's really cute..but too expensive.
