2023 Porsche 992 GT3 R testing at Misano Circuit: Accelerations, Fly-Bys & Sound!

For 2023 some manufacturers have updated their GT3-class weapons and now many teams are receiving these new cars before the start of the season. That's the case of the Italian team Dinamic GT, which was at Misano World Circuit to test their new Porsche 992 GT3 Rs a couple of weeks ago during a Kateyama professional track day.
The 2023 911 GT3 R is Porsche's evolution to their 991.2 GT3 R and of course it's based on the 992 generation. From my point of view and from what I've seen since the first spy images were released, this GT3 R seems to have taken many aero characteristics of the RSR-19 GTE. As for the RSR, the naturally-aspirated flat-6 engine had an increase in displacement from 4.0 to 4.2-litre. It was also tilted forward 5.5 degrees to create more space for the rear diffuser.

As a true Porsche fan, I'll definitely miss the GTE class and the RSR legacy. But all my hopes are now on the GT3 that it will carry on the Spirit of the Flat-six

Of all the Manufacturers in GT3, only Ferrari is using the V6. Mercedes is still using their V8, Porsche is obviously sticking to their flat 6, Both Audi and Lamborghini are still using the V10, The Upcoming Corvette AND Mustang are still using V8s (Albeit different cranks) and the BMW actually went back to using the Straight 6. Even if we count the Hypercars and GTPs across WEC and IMSA, not alot of makes are using V6s actually.

Such a beautiful looking and sounding car. Hope they can make everything come together for GT3. Porsche is my fav. sportscar manufacturer and race brand period, it's hard to see them not doing all that hot in GT3 when they destroy everything else. I'm hopeful they will nail it since GTE has been shut down.

I wish the GT3 R wasn't muffled like that GT3 Cup. I was at COTA 2 weeks ago and there was a GT3 cup testing, and its insane how loud it was compared to other GT3s. Only plus side of being muffled is it's easier to hear the gearbox whine, which is one of my favorite sounds when it comes to race cars.

I was at a 9 hour race in December last year and there was a 992 Gt3 Cup car competing and I thought it sounded really muffled. I feel like these Gt3 R's would be much louder compared to that Cup car. There was also a 991.2 Gt3 Cup car that was extremely loud which was fascinating.

About the same. Decibel limit remains at 105 for gt3 cars (I believe).

I love this car... Porsche are my favorite cars in many simulations, and I am looking forward to this new iteration of the 992 - already love driving the 992 GT3 Cup. But I hope the real cars will perform a little better when the racing season advances... on the latest 4h race on the Nürburgring Nordschleife the overall performance wasn't all that convincing. Still, I love this car and look forward how the upcoming virtual version are going to perform.

They won an impressive race in imsa at the 12 hrs of sebring. We're really far behind but they climbed up to win gt pro. With klaus bachler,Patrick pilet and Laurens Vanthoor behind the wheel

@Tobiwan Kentobi it's because imsa didn't fuck up the bop really badly. Still wasn't brilliant though but out of all series in the world for bop,imsa is the best at making it equal

@@alexanderodonnell988 yeah can’t agree with you that Imsa didn’t mess up the Bop too badly. At the first race in imsa the 24h Daytona the Porsche was 4 seconds a lap slower than other gt3 cars. Which is a huge margin. Which is why one Porsche team left the Imsa championship to focus on Wec and others threatened to leave if the bop wasn’t adjusted for Sebring. Thankfully they did, so the Porsche actually had a chance in Sebring. I am a huge 911 fan so it really hurt seeing it so slow in Daytona. But yeah since it’s a new car it’s gonna take a while till the different championships get it’s bop right. Btw. the new Ferrari and Lamborghini were also slow compared to the Mercedes and Audi in Daytona so the Porsche wasn’t the only car which had a bad Bop for the first race.

I noticed that the 992 GT3R got a small body update. At the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, the new Porsche 992 GT3R had these wheel arch ventilation slots over the front wheels again. What he didn't have when he came out. Or like here in the video.

NA, 4.2L, F6, 565 CV, what I don't know it's the torque? 480 N•m 490 N•m 500 N•m ??? Somebody knows? The previous: the Porsche 991 GT3 R was a 4.0L with 550 CV (even better displacement/power rario than the current, yes very very thin but still, also i don't know the torque figure of the previous either).

No it's a GT3 car. GT3 cars are quite a bit quicker and have better aero. Also ABS which the Cup car doesn't have.

I don't know how to describe it, In the road version with an aftermarket exhaust you could hear 2 perfectly synchronized motorcycles when the car is heading towards the camera.
