Ya bud I use to have a savage x 4.6 back in the day i loved that ! Id like to get the new HPI savage x XL v2 flux. My brother had traxxas to they were great. Id go electric this time. But i still love nitro. best smell lol

Definitely recommend you try the TLR series buggies, they seem to be more dominant at the local and big race level lately compared to associated and I personally went from associated to TLR lately and can say i wish i did it sooner

How much better do you find the MP9 over the cheaper Neo 3.0. Also what would you pick between the new Associated RC8T4e truggy & the Tekno ET48 2.0 ? Great review by the way.

no idea about the truggies, but I think both the MP9 and NEO are great. MP9 just has all the upgrades included in the box and a little bit better platform.

That's a tough one because there are so many good brands. You could pick from 4 or 5 and have a good kit. I'd say associated is a safe bet though. Teckno is awesome as well.

The Kyosho mp9 is great for bashing, but needs better springs, heavier fluid, and at least a heavier antiroll bar in the rear to race it. For racing straight out of the box, I would suggest the Serpent SRX8, that thing handles amazingly. My biggest complaint on the Serpent is it can be harder to get parts for because the US distributor ticked off everyone so everyone has been slowly dropping Serpent in the US. I love both of them and I prefer the hump packs that the Kyosho uses over the long skinny packs most others, including the Serpent, use. Before I forget, the Kyosho comes with a AA battery pack, the Serpent comes with nothing for the receiver battery, so you have to buy a battery with or after you pick it up. Nitro baby! Remember to run rich and loud!

Hi Razor. GREAT summary as always. Debating a Rival MT10 or Arrma Vorteks. Looking to run around a park on grass, pavement, dirt. Some jumps, but not stunts or ‘sending it.’ While RC club racing is behind me, I do appreciate a feeling of ‘handling.’ Durability and a big smile are what matters. Any recommendation on Vorteks vs. MT10 in that context?

Vorteks for speed shock supports break , mt10 lil slower durable , better drivetrain, not as good electronics. conclusion idk lol

Beg your forgiveness, but how can you compile a list of the best 2023 cars when it was barely 2023? Was it a typo and you meant 2022? For instance the best rtr 1/18 crawler was just up for sale a few weeks ago?

Great list, but the fact that nothing from HoBao was mentioned is just a criminal sin!!! 😅😅🤣🤣 HoBao Hyper MTX is by far the best, most durable, highest quality 1/8 monster truck out of the box!

@Razor RC yeah I think that since the elite don't have a carpet edition is the only thing. I just spent 150 on option parts for a yokomo carpet edition, and I bet I would be doing the same thing if I got an ae carpet edition. It's just I really like those losi gull wings.

Serpent Sx8 nitro rtr is a better choice than the kyosho. More standard upgrades, similar to a kit.

Double backflip to front flip…I’d love to see an petrol fifth scale do that. Your 2wd Baja head to head is pry just gonna crack a head and exhaust manifold from landing upside down. GL
