I work at an ISP and yes we do get notices from DMCA. We HAVE to take action otherwise we will get fined. We work on a 3 strike policy. The first strike is a slap on the hand. The second is we will disable your internet for a week. The 3rd strike is removal as a customer. Yes we will permanently shut your internet off with us. You cannot get around these downloads because it is based off the game's hash. That hash can be tracked anywhere.

The only Uber uniques that I've found is the ring that buffs core skills(honestly didn't even know that it was an Uber until someone told me and I googled it and confirmed) but I now have 4 of those so should be good. Except that my build doesn't use core skills.

Speaking as a game developer myself, usually assets bought to make a game are built to serve many purposes, some projects i made i had to buy assets due to short budgets, but then i had to refine them to serve my own purpose instead of just adding them to the game, those assets are heavy as hell and cost a lot of performance if not polished by your own hands. I understand when developers do this, but buying assets is not like buying a complete brick wall, it's just the bricks and cement, you still need to know how to build the wall. Not saying those devs were lazy or just bought assets to scam people/investors, but man, using those things without knowing what you're doing is like asking for disaster.

when a developer hears "ASSET FLIP" they will most likely think about: 'there is no one original thing in this entire project, they purchased everything no matter any cohesion' when a general player hears "ASSET FLIP": 'there is one model/sound-clip/animation that someone was able to find on a market place' part of this I would attribute to Mr. Sterling, almost al if the "gamer community" has been taught to view the existence of 1 purchased asset to call into question the "legitimacy" of every asset in the game

Pretty sure what you described is accepted as a normal thing, OP. When people call "Asset flip" they mean what FNTASTIC did, bought assets months before game release and throw them together with little work put in to make it all blend into a game and then charge very high prices for that. Indie devs using bought assets like you said covers lack of funding and lack of teams/tools which is what it is for, it isn't for some scammers to panic to stitch a game together because they didn't have a game like they said they had for the past few years.

@@fish5645 Oh yeah i know, i just mentioned that some developers think that an asset comes ready to use and stuff, so they don't need to worry about anything. Many shaders and effects need polish to be more optimised, or codes have extra things to be robust, but might be useless to your game.

Like I mentioned, iXBT Games have interviewed the devs. The problem was it were not the developers making claims. When one of the two heads of the studio tells just hired Junior that 'it's not _AAA-ish enough'_ and this Junior has to find a way to 'make it look right' himself (by tomorrow morning, no less) -- this spells disaster since there were _only_ underpaid juniors in the studio. And this is the smallest of things disclosed in the interview. I would recommend to watch it and treasure your job. There are places in the industry where everything is far worse.

The amount of money Disney makes from these licenses is insane: if sales cross 6M in a year "which they always do for Marvel": Disney gets 26% of Digital sales, 18% of physical sales, 50% of bundled. They have deals with many game developers and Disney's expenses is only salaries for a small staff in MarvelGames whose sole function is to license and creative supervision.

The Draft seemingly hidden or removed from last i heard but tbh for players we lost only daily login not too much of an issue. But for the devs, this mean huge hit on their income and possibly affect how they develop the game. I whole heartedly agree that there should be safety measure like guarantee item and protection for minors but limitation for a PU is difficult. I honestly don't know how much profit they need for company to keep going and developed new game, but either way limiting revenue from each PU could possibly problematic.

It's not even just that profit is what you make after all expenses are paid and while companies like EA make a large sum of money that is part of the countries GDP which is a massively important part of the economy globally, it's basically how well your economy is doing overall and the value of those companies. EA this year their annual income was 0.802B$ so a bit over 800 million, their net revenue was between 7.3 and 7.7 billion, so I can only imagine the expenses to drop 6+ billion dollars in expenses over the entire year for 2023.. Activision blizzard hit 8.7 billion i believe this year and its actual profit was only 587 million meaning 8 billion+ in expenses and so on. From what I understand anywhere from 50-70% of these companies revenue is from microtransactions. AS EA labels Live service to include MTX and other things, either way its not a good thing really, the profit part yes thats important overall but the way its happening not so much, so perhaps if something similar happens where they're cracked down on a bit and it beats them down a little bit then perhaps things could change for the better. However my fear is too large of a hit would cause tens of thousands of layoffs across the gaming market and might even bankrupt some companies entirely and would probably wreck the economy without any support and if the government is the one that steps in then we have another major issue.. its already bad enough the government subsidizes oil, healthcare, auto industry, train industry which is just amtrak and basically all other industries..

As a former Senior QA for a big gaming corporation, i can tell you that the alpha build (the first iterations of the game) look nothing like the Gold Build or finished product not even close to beta sometimes because a lot of things change from story or features that will be cut or implemented.

I got super lucky and got my Melted Heart on my 4th Duriel run, and I got the Lycander staff on like my 10th run. However, I haven't had another Uber since, and likely never will. I'm happy with what I got (despite both Ubers being useless for my build lol)

For winter event following your path's for farming/guide per hour an player can get min 60-70 gifts after conversion. For total Xmog's took me like 10h chill muzic,🍷🍺🍻🍾🥃 and all of that.

I don't know, it makes really good sense actually that the place that has the most predatory monetization would be the place to lead the charge to fix it. The places where things are the worst have the most need to make things better.

Yea do the response to the build of wolverine that was leaked is ridiculous. It's so early in development there isn't anything worth value in that build. It's just placeholder assets and basically levels so they workshop ish. See what works and what doesn't.

I'm a very casual gamer and mostly happy with Starfield. I haven't played a solo RPG since around 2004, so I'm not exactly up to date with modern RPGs and I was BLOWN AWAY with how incredible this game is. My largest complaint is that I can't fly around the planets within the atmosphere like we were lead to believe we would be able to with exploration. That really makes it feel more limited when I have to literally launch into space just to land back somewhere else. Just load the planets bit by bit as we explore and let us fly around the planet's atmosphere. Overall, very impressed, very happy.
