I head over into one of my favorite states, Alabama.
It didn't take long to find some Gobblers, and one stubborn
hung up Gobbler. I had to pull all the tricks out on this stubborn
Southern Longbeard..

Just getting back into turkey hunting since I was a teenager. Thank u for the videos. It has helped me alot an taught me alot. I called my first alabama bird in this morning but ended up spooking him. My hunting partner spotted him first an whispered to shoot it. I was aimed and waiting for him to move about 10 more feet should have been a 35 yard shot lol. But again thank u alot for the videos. Good solid information

Good job Dale. I haven’t heard Alex Rutledge in forever. Whatever happen to him. I met him at the deer classic in Greenville ky and he picked my daughter up signed her camo hat and kissed her on her cheek. She wasn’t bout 3 or 4. She fixin be 18 now. Thought that was awesome. He a good dude.

Great advice on staying put and waiting! Most people want to owl, crow call or cutt on a call while walking or driving around to high points on the road. All this makes for bumped birds and shuts down any gobbling that might start, excessively pressures birds and makes them go quite for extended periods. I could write a book on some of the craziness you see on public ground.

Never leave a Tom turkey gobbling back at your calls, don't drive off and crow call or owl call, who does that

around this part of va there normally is 2 to 3 hens to a Tom, but there may be groups he moves to threw out the day.. He keeps coming by the shop from one field area to another just crussing along .. he keeps moving along that's for sure..

Great hunt.Surprised you werent wearing facepaint or a mask.He may have seen your hands and face imo..I live in Vt.opener is May 1st..Itll be my 43 rd year hunting those ol Toms!!

I used a camo net 3 times to cover up and all 3 time were busted it works for deer but turkeys see different they notice everything

Awesome video but got a question I’m in southern West Virginia and 1st week of season over and turkeys just ain’t gobbling in my areas after fly down I’ve walked and walked and can’t get nothing the first youth day was good my boy killed one but rest of week nothing do u think it will pick up and r they just henned up let me know your knowledge on this if u don’t care????

Congrats Dale....I see you're not wearing a face mask. I hunt in one of the highest pressured states. Pennsylvania! I would get busted 10 out of 10 times not wearing one. Gobblers must not be as pressured I'm guessing ??

Very high pressured area actually. I’ve hunted public land private land high pressured places and killed many without a face mask. Just sit still and pull your cap down and they will walk right in. I’ve shot them on public land 15 yards without a Facemask. 😉

Private land. Although no feeding during Turkey season. So none were on. It didn’t make it any easier with it without the feeder there. Took 2 hours to kill him

Always possible it was a different Tom that never gobbled that came in silent Had that happen a bunch of times while playing back and forth with a gobbling Tom that would answer my calls move closer then move away some then closer as Im listing to him gobbling off in the distance BAM out pops a different gobbler I had no clue was in the area because he never once gobbled back at my calls One time my best friend and I were trying to get my youngest son a Tom we were set up on a small field because were were set up on the point of a skinny finger that jutted out into the field my son was set to my right my friend behind us both when I heard my son click off the safety on the Benellie Supernova and as I was about to ask him whats up BOOM he took a big ole Tom came sneaking in only my son saw but the Tom we were working kept right on gobbling off in the distance was a beautiful 23lb Tom with 1.375" and 1.25" spurs and a 11.5" beard Was using a Benellie 26" Supernova with a Choke for use with WLBXR shells topped with a Halosun 3moa Red dot its the go to turkey gun if it's not going to rain

Lol. I shot 2 the last week with no mask both were close also. I wear mask some but I’ve killed more without them than with them

I’ve killed more without a face mask than I have with one . Pull your cap down and stay behind your gun they won’t see you

Try covering your hand and face. The see that 10 times better. Cover up a little more

I’ve killed a lot more without a mask and gloves than with them. I use them but I kill them with and without. Setting still is the most important. And setting up with a good background which I didn’t have in this set up. I had a gobbler 10 yards the other day without mask and gloves he never knew I was there 😀

You could tell that was a 2 year old 30 seconds in. That calling. The whining and bubble clucks were spot on, but I have no idea what was going on before that 😅
