I have a Conquest 100HG, along with the new 2022 Bantam A, both have Infinity Drive. I think all it is in casting reels is just a tighter fit of the pinion and spool shaft. My newest Zillion has a fatter spool shaft too, as opposed to older Daiwa spool shafts being smaller than the pinion hole.

Well covered video. I came to the same conclusion when I looked closely at what they say they added as "upgrades" are nothing more than marketing jargons to dupe consumers on replacing their Stradics If you havent bought one, its good to get it of course but if you have one its pointless

Hello, does the spool of the fl work on the fm? And also, are the rotors the same? Could the rotor of fl work on fm?

Do the FL spools fit the FM?

Might get a stradic fm, in my 4000 fl the main gear broke when i was fishing 60g lures in strong current. the new gear teeth are 2mm wider on the fm.
@lionking802 ай бұрын
Not only the teeth are wider, but the gear diameter is also increased. FM 2500 size has the same main gear diameter as FL 4000 size which is 32 mm. The FM 4000 now has increased this gear diameter to 34 mm.

4 Upgrades from the FL to the FM. DURACROSS Drag, INFINITYXROSS, INFINITYDRIVE and ANTI TWIST FIN - all a trickle down from the Stella FK.
@tackleaddictgy10 ай бұрын
Duracross drag-felt drag, infinitydrive-a coating on the main shaft, infinityxross- the previous generations main gears were all solid with little to no issue. Anti twist fin- a little piece of plastic thats suppose to help with line twist. But let's be honest, how many times in the past we stop fishing because of line twist? How many times we say I'm done for the day(at the beginning of the day) because of line twist? My friend if a company gonna include features of a $700+ reel in a $200+ reel then what's the purpose of manufacturing the $700+ reel in the first place? The fl was already a great reel. But I welcome your comment. Cheers mate!

@@tackleaddictgy Agree. I own 5 of the FLs. I don't think a 4x as expensive reel is going to outlast or outperform the FL by 4x. It is going to have a few more bearings and seals, but truly what else is there to upgrade when they are already made of the same material, etc? Quite frankly I would never buy a Stella even though I could afford one. The FLs are great, along with the previous models, and the FM really won't be a noticeable difference 99% of the users vs the FL. I'm honestly wondering about the drag as felt drag is certainly smoother than the carbon, but the felt drag certainly wears out MUCH faster. Carbon drags, I have at times, had them stick. So, again, I'm very curious if the new duracross drag washers will actually be as smooth as felt but last 10x longer.

@@londusing4038 I'll be doing a video in the near future on how to make your drag function properly and how to ensure your drag don't fail.

How do u think about daiwa airdrive mainshaft?, is it a true upgrade or just marketing like infinity drive?

Hola. Tuve muchos problemas con el guia hilos del 2015, valdria ponerle uno del 2019? O hay otro guia hilos para sustituir el del 2015? Tuve que comprar 4 guia hilos
@tackleaddictgy7 ай бұрын
Sadly no. You'll have to buy the 2015 one.

Respectively this is wrong, the FM also has a completely new gearset and drag, the gearset change in particular is quite a big change, as the FL's gears weren't particularly powerful for shimano standards and didn't last nearly as long as they should have, so for the FM to get the same gear set as the Vanquish and next TP is a very important change that you completely left out.
@tackleaddictgy8 ай бұрын
I appreciate and respect your opinion. I did mention about the gear change but like I also said how often you saw shimano main gears fail? I got a 2015 stradic thats still going strong. Again I don't see it as a major upgrade.

@@tackleaddictgy They fail all the time, I've killed Stradic Twinpower and Stella gearsets on the first outing, and many more times within a few months at best. Advancing gear design is never ever a bad thing, power efficiency and wear rate have all been greatly improved and I see that as an absolute worthy upgrade. At the end of the day it's a Stradic, what do you expect from it? They gave it good upgrades that most will appreciate, just because you want it to be completely reinvented doesn't mean anything, they upgraded it and that's all that matters, and I for 1 can definitely feel the difference. If you want overwhelming improvement, spend more money on a better reel, they aren't just going to make a Stradic a Stella because you want them to.
@tackleaddictgy8 ай бұрын
@cozab5487 my friend I've never wanted them to make stradic like a Stella. I just don't see it as a major upgrade but that still doesn't mean the reel isn't a great reel. Its still a fantastic reel and I've said that. But if you kill stella gears on first outing then my friend I suggest you try another brand. I just can't see my self damaging a completely new gear on a reel the first outing. Again I respect your opinion and I welcome any criticism.
@cozab54878 ай бұрын
@@tackleaddictgy It is ok, I cared too much, to be honest I don't even use Stradics because as you can tell I'm very picky and see fishing tackle for the performance technology and engineering all the way to the minute details, so for me Stradics do not have high appeal. My point here is, I shouldn't have judged what people feel in reels they see as more of a tool than a piece of engineering (and in some cases art), I fully understand to someone just using these reels as a workhorse, this new Stradic will feel slightly more powerful, slightly smoother under heavier loads, and have slightly longer lasting drag washers, and that's it, these aren't very tangible upgrades in the smaller sizes, and even in 4000/5000 sizes these upgrades will only show themselves when larger fish are encountered. My assessment is a deeper one based on the aforementioned metrics, that I see aren't always considered nor needed to be considered depending on who I'm talking to, my mistake.

And like I said I fully respect and welcome your opinion. Have a good one my friend.
