@@Thkmra well no…kim is actually a soprano and was classically trained as a soprano. Another example of a mezzo with similar range and a similar upper register would be Leandria Johnson.

Imo, is just a silly myth that has stuck-but as anyone can tell from her earliest music, even vids of her singing in choir, she was a hard Contralto! Around ‘08 she started experimenting with her head voice, doing runs & found she can add some chest into it(mix) and wallah!Agree, Leandria is just case of pushing voice to its upper limits(extensions, much like Jakaelyn. But notice how she had to come back down to what was comfortable.
