I own a 2023 Crosstrek Limited which I got in November 22! The Limited model comes fully loaded in Canada! Some features are: 2.5l engine with 182 HP; heated steering wheel; moonroof; chrome handles and trim; aluminum brake and accelerator peddle and left foot rest; 18” tires with sporty rims; Harmon Kardon sound system with a CD player; Subaru’s Eyesight; backup camera plus many more features! In Canada, the Limited is the top trim level of the Crosstrek! I truly enjoy driving this car and it is my first Subaru after buying mostly Honda cars! My wife drives the 2022 Honda CR-V Touring and I find that the Crosstrek is quieter on acceleration than the CR-V! I find that the Crosstrek is very reasonable on gas consumption where I averaged 14.9 km/ l on a trip to Toronto from Montreal! The car that you tested has the 2.0 l engine and produces only 152 HP which I would find to be underpowered!

It's a pity Subaru are not bringing the 2.5lt engine to Australia. Will probably buy the Forrester instead.

I own a 2018 XV, amazing car…but the fact that the boot has gotten even smaller has me thinking the designers are brain dead as that is one major issue along with the engine. Needs a turbo.

No electric tailgate, no head up display and no rear air events. Still missing some features most have these days.

I've owned the 2017 Subaru XV since new (now the wife's car) and whilst it's been a great car for us, it's biggest downside is it's very lacking in power and has a very ordinary CVT transmission. I knew about this before I bought it, but a it's a shame to see the new Crosstrek is still the same and no improvement has been made. Subaru really do need to catch up with other manufacturers and develop a better hybrid (or even a PHEV) to compete with the likes of Toyota, etc. Yes it was mentioned about a better hybrid coming in 2025, but this may be too late for Subaru. I LOVE the look of this new Crosstrek, and good to see they have finally updated the infotainment system to a larger screen. A full digital dash/speedo would be better as a lot of other manufacturers are now coming out with this. Analogue dials are a bit dated now IMHO.

why no mention of cabin and road noise suppression performance? this should be reported as readily as power figures and perhaps tested on a standardised section of typical coarse chip Australian road at 110kmh or 100kmh. given speed limits on public roads it is cabin and road noise that arguably has a much greater impact on ownership satisfaction

@@Drivecomau thanks, you're right, but it would be good have such things said in the video too; a real pity about the road noise - US reviews say the cabin is relatively quiet - do the Australian/Japanese versions have less acoustic insulation or are our roads just so incredibly bad for road noise? If the road noise on the new Crosstrek is similar to the Outback then I could live with it (as having measured that it's similar to the previous generation of a Mercedes C Class sedan) so it would be nice if you guys actually did relatively controlled, standardised approximate measurements of noise inside the cabin at speed on typical coarse chip roads with a proper dB meter (I do it at the same speed on same section of road in the same weather ie dry road and little wind, with the A/C turned off and the sound system obviously turned off, measured in the same space at around chest level between driver and passenger; the iPhone has a dB meter app but I'm not sure how accurate it is) - it would provide a lot of value to people otherwise if this was considered part of your expected reporting, otherwise I am left to run these experiments for my own benefit by road testing cars on lengthy road tests myself which should be unnecessary - and it means you are left to provide extremely subjective comments to readers than mean little in comparison to other cars aside from giving them a tick or offering warning like here

Subaru owners continue to choose Subaru over Toyota and the rest because they go anywhere. My Forester has taken me to places that a Toyota rav4 would only dream of. I agree that I'd love some more power, but on the whole, it's a great car and is very easy to love with.

It's a mid sized vehicle, it's not hard to cool or heat the interior space. Folks act like it's a Surburban or Expedition, lmao.

I have had my 2013 xv 6 speed manual from new, I would not buy the cvt model, bring the 2.5ltr manual subaru, some of us are not lazy, we drive manuals.

This is rubbish. For everyone saying it is gutless, go drive it and then come back to me... service costs are also 300-400 for the first three years, not bad.

You will be shocked to know the spare tyre is 17 inch in diameter and the drive tyres are 18 inch in diameter, big problem driving with different diameter tyres on a car its a bad idea, and the car is pitched to be good off road, don’t take this car off road the emergency tyre would fail if you had to use it in rough conditions you could be stranded, and that could leave you in danger well of the main road, a correct spare tyre is one of the most important piece’s of kit in a car, this is a major safety issue, I have an XV I like the car except of that ridiculous emergency tyre.

Vehicles have operated on smaller spare tires for decades. That's why it's called a "temporary" spare tire.

Who cares about the lack of power. It is more than enough for most road users. I have one of these for the last 9 years and it is reliable to the extreme. I have ordered the new model and hope it is as good as the older one.
