The more I look at it , the more I feel mesmerised. This is gonna set a benchmark on how the bike should look in terms of fit, finish and quality. Suspension would be more than adequate for the majority of riders. I had a 2020 sv650, 2022 mt09. Believe me when I say it, this is what I always wanted from a bike. Good brakes, low down torque, beautiful paint colour with Suzuki bulletproof engineering. Have already put an order for Australia 😀

It’s a good looking motorbike but not overly keen on the looks of the chiselled front end. Being a Suzuki it will be beautifully engineered and fuelling should be perfect. For me, Suzuki will need to price the bike correctly AND give the bike a decent finish, something lacking on Suzi’s over the years. I think they’ve pitched it correctly above the 700cc sector; quite a cute move. Look forward to a test ride…. Oh, forgetting I have a appointment with that new and beautiful Guzzi V100 Mandello!

Looks lovely and has a good spec. Assuming it’s pricier than the new Hornet, it will be interesting to see if the better looks and the 180 rear tyre is enough to lure customers away from the Honda. As someone looking to buy exactly this kind of bike next year, it’s awesome to see two really capable 750+ bikes on offer at this price point. Mind you, still tempted by a used Aprilia Tuono 660, which is obviously the only one of the three I’ve ridden so far. Test riding one of these (and the Hornet) as soon as possible next year!

I'm interested in the V-Strom version of the 8S with more go than a V-Strom 650 and better mileage and less weight than a V-Strom 1050. Not sure sure how these will go in Aussie/NZ as above 650 for LAMs riders. EU has A2 that allows bigger restricted engines like F800. Wonder if SV 650 will stay and V-Strom 650 will stay for Aussie/NZ LAMs of if they'll drop from Suzuki range as they would have to keep updating exhausts and engines for EU emissions standards where they'll sell more bikes. Reckon may be last year to get an SV 650 or V-Strom 650 if you want one. V-twins are costlier to make than parallel twins. BMW and KTM get big parallel twins made in China now as simpler and cheaper to make there.

Looks nice, I hope Suzuki prices it competitively. and not over priced. it should not be more than the Honda Hornet which has more power. when will it be in the stores ? it has more horse power than an MT07 but maybe its not faster because of the extra weight. I will be looking forward to some reviews and comparisons with the other twins, the Hornet and MT07.

We know what Honda is in UK, but the fact they are keeping quiet is a bad sign - they want you to take emotional ownership of it before the bad news

Cool bike but why so low on power. 790 Duke has 105hp, Tuono 660 got 95 or 100 (Factory). 776cc twin shoud have around 100hp, at least 95hp and still A2 legal.

It's difficult to see this as an upgrade to the MT-07 or the Honda Hornet. They look like they're fighting over the same slice of pie to me. Now if Suzuki had upped the displacement into the 850 cc range that would have made it easier to see it as an update.

Looks great & I much prefer the looks of this to the Hornet & MT but the power & weight is a little disappointing. It's not a deal breaker but it really needs 10bhp more & 10kg less imo. First upgrade will be a full system I imagine.

Why 10 HP more when the emphasis is on torque?
@ragerider6283
@ragerider6283 Жыл бұрын
@@madcockney From a marketing point of view to compete with the Hornet I mean. I would chose the Suzuki myself but like it or not people look at peak power. Plus the Hornet is lighter too by 12kg which is another marketing factor as well. Although as you mention it does have more torque & a QS as standard over the Hornet I think. Plus Suzuki's power torque & weight figures conflict on their website as they have 61kw (81.8bhp) as well as 89.9 PS which is 88.67bhp which is more like it but who knows. As for torque there's 78NM which is 57lbs/ft as well as 60lbs/ft stated depending on the source. They also claim 202kg & 204kg in different places as well. New launch teething issues no doubt which I'm sure they'll figure out shortly.

I bet after tuning & moding this bike we could easily get 100ish HP + insane torque and also reduce alot of weight. Suzuki's are insane for their tuning potential.
@ragerider6283
@ragerider6283 Жыл бұрын
@@OwnerOP True but probably quite a lot of work & money get there. Definitely needs a full system imo for looks, a bhp bump & bit of weight saving too. Guess it all depends how much it cost but either way it will be a fun bike I'm sure.

Get a GSX-S750 then, that has all the extra snort you speak of. I'd rather have a rippin' barkin' twin, with twin-counterbalances it will be smooth as well (something most twins on the market are NOT). At least here the customer won't have to do a fork swap, brake upgrades and all the usual stuff that's rather budget and flimsy on the MT and SV. I did a comparison already between the CB750 and this 8S. The Suzuki is much less over-square bore/stroke ratio and higher compression. This automatically means it will produce a good deal more snort in the mid range, less RPM required to shove, and probably better MPG for the displacement. Oh, and 180 section rear tire instead of Honda's 160 (if you like aesthetics like that). FRANKLY I'M ALL BURNED OUT OF ALL THIS HORSEPOWER NONSENSE AND THE WORLD NEEDS MORE 750-900CC BIKES. Who in the world is using up all the power of a superbike these days and getting bored with them? No one. Why do people get bored? Because below 100 mph the powerful engines are BORING. Spend money on training, racing, training, courses, and use everything a bike like this 8S will provide. You'll reach the limits and have a lot of fun on those limits without dying, without going broke, without fixing and repairing, and still have money left over for quality riding gear.

Why is the bigger engine seen by Suzuki as a selling point when it makes about as much as a 650?

Good review, thanks. Maybe a replacement for the GSX S750 which is a brilliant bike, but ageing and not updated.?? Looks and sounds cool. Great to see more mid-weight bikes with the Hornet and Triumph Trident. Be interested in the comparison review with the MT07, exciting but soft suspension and the Hornet, sounds like underdamped and cheap suspension.

The GSX-S750 was a dog sales-wise. Suzuki exists to make money, and that was the problem the GSX 8s was intended to fix.

@@peterwilson8039 Where i live the GSX S750 is a steady seller. It is very cheap for the handling and performance and serves a market that cant afford other bikes. Its about the same prices as an MT07. The Triumph Trident should knock it out but they only import the restricted version and conversions are not allowed. So lots of go for not much money, they are still selling. I almost bout one new last year. Got a 2020 Street Triple R instead. Cost 20% more second hand.

I have owned ...1 scooter and later three Honda 184cc, 500cc and currently a 650cc and this is strong contender to step up since the Hornet looks are quite dull... however where i live suzuki's dealership is an absolute crap and shame... customer service has no description here, so this is a serious deal breaker will have to find out more details from them

I have a 2008 SV650S and if I would change I would go for something that has more than 12 hp more stock... I know that the emission regulations are the reason for this bike but I would get an MT-09 or if I had the cash a MT-10 if I would look for a step up from my SV. In my book learners should start on 500cc, move to a 700cc and then a 100hp+ bike. I've been riding my SV for 12 years now and for the money it's hard to beat, in those 12 years I had a cb500r, a gsx1000r and a zx10r but the SV never let me down

The question of this vs the MT07; I agree in part with his answer but what he should have said is this is a direct competitor with the MT09. Compare apples to apples of you're gonna try and pit manufactures against one another...
