These sound great to my ears. I own the same model myself. It’s easy to play and the body carve is comfortable. It’s a good songwriting tool and it’s compact. The only downside is the onboard tuner doesn’t work well but I use a Snark clip on tuner to get accurate pitch. I plug mine into a Fishman Loudbox and the pickup even sounds great . Mine arrived today. For the price, it's fantastic value. But people should get away from the idea that it's a 'student' guitar and think of it more as an almost premium acoustic stripped away to the very basic essentials.

Taylor does have its own sound a bit trebly , yes the martins have their bass . I guess it’s the way the make it to bring out their sound . Happy new year Jarvis

I have one, it's good, easy on hands and the bevel is nice. I only wish the nut width was 1.75 inches and the batteries lasted longer.

What brand and type did you replace your saddle and pins with? Nut also? Someone told me that using Martin strings on a Taylor makes an interesting sound improvement also. Any experience with that?

I noticed you nearly always change the saddle, nut or pins to a better material. It seems makes a big difference as yours always sounds better than other channels reviews 👍

A proper setup of the guitar is almost as important to bring out the best of each guitar as it will optimise the resonance of each individual guitar

@@schism6976 yes I do cox many a times the trebles and bass of the saddle is not balance and also the arch radius on the top crown is off which compromises the playability and tone

My academy 10’s action on the 12th fret is over 3.5mm on the low E and 3-3.5mm on the high E.😢

better get someone to straighten the neck and lower the saddle if not it’s the high tension that is swelling the top as this series has only one tone bar which provides a nice open tone but this resulted in the top propensity to swell

I’m not a big fan of the Taylor sound but this one does have some kick and more bass. Not as tinny.

12 is better due to size and clearer articulate trebles
