I love it, looks like a true drivers car. The rear fenders remind me of something off a 80s Group B rally car. I'm also happy they put a manual in it, nothing beats a manual for driver engagement and fun.

Amazing: 300 HP from a 3 cylinder 1.6 liter engine. Carbon fiber roof! Looks like a little bulldog. :) Love that old school pull up handbrake. Nice preview.

Good to know Toyota is making their own sports cars again. I worked at Toyota for about 8 years and at the time they featured the Celica and Corolla XRS models with that 2ZZ-GE engine. They discontinued them later and I thought Toyota was out of the tuner car game. Welcome back!

One just caught on fire. Toyota denied a claim because the driver stated they were doing 85mph. Toyota says it's the customers fault. I wouldn't

Only thing hotter than the hatch is the presenter.👍 Can this hatch be locked in AWD mode if you so desire. Living in Canuckastan, would be a huge plus in winter snow ❄️

Thank you, Mike 😊. Yes, the GR Corolla is full time AWD but you can customize the power distribution 50/50, 60/40 or 30/70.

I wish the trunk would be bigger and the back seats had a little more space. A car always has to be practical to me. Also I am worried because of the 3 Cylinders. 300hp for 3 cylinders could be to much. But I am not an expert on that. Greetings

There is a picture floating around that shows just how thick they made the cylinder sleeves. Also, people in the UK and the Aussies have already made 500 BHP with this little engine. So again it looks like Toyota over engineered this again it seems, this a track ready car...

My pre order was in a while back fingers crossed from Australia as we have to share 20% of the 1500 with Japan. Love the car only thing I would change the side mirrors should be in the A pillars not on the doors so you can see side profile beautiful lines with obstruction of the mirrors

Carbon fiber roof helps with better aerodynamics, airflow, better mpg and more power, hu? 🤔 It's there to reduce weight and therefore lower the center of gravity for better handling.

Yes, you are correct. I should have said it helps with agility and handling. In the moment I was feeling the pressure to get the video shot since I only had a few minutes before they were going to lock the vehicle so I lost focus. I’m only human.

No. Do the math. Physics. Heat and pressure, now hp is created. 1.6L 3 cyl. 300hp. That is 100hp per cylinder. Think about your lawnmower. 100hp out of .53 liters. Look at a quart of oil. That is 100hp out of just over 1/2 a quart of oil in volume. That is crazy and unprecedented. Do the math for the 1.5L Honda Si motor. 1.5 Liters over 4 cylinder. 200 hp. That is 1/2 the hp out of each cylinder. A 300hp 3 cyclinder stresses the entire engine more. Block, crank, connecting rods...everything. Will this car be fun to drive? Absolutely. Would I own one having been to engineering school? No.
