The new Toyota Innova HyCross comes only with a petrol engine while the old Innova Crysta continues only with a diesel. Toyota Innova has come a long way since it was launched in 2005 as a replacement for the Qualis. In its current avatar it has a whole bunch of competitors like the Maruti Suzuki XL6, Ertiga and Kia Carens at the lower end, Kia Carnival at the higher end, even 7-seater SUVs like Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector and Tata Safari. However fact is an Innova only competes with itself and that is why we are comparing new Innova vs the old Innova. Good review, what you missed was the boot space in the Hycross with the flat folding 3rd row. The Crysta's folding seats are so old school and eat up so much space.

Hi Sirish Would you prefer the Crysta over the Hybrid Hycross if it were to be driven 50% on the highways, 40% within the city and 10% on weekend getaways mostly in the Hills with occurrence of boulders, slush and country roads. Many thanks in advance

Love the channel Sireesh, always a joy watching you 👌🏼 Regards your doubts how the Hycross will fare long term after hard usage - My office in Dhaka has 2 Toyota Noah Hybrid, perhaps flimsier than Hycross. The vehicles were 4 years old imported from Japan. We have been using them non-stop in more unruly traffic and road conditions than anything you see in India. The 2 Noahs are still going strong... Not a single complaint!

For the price, I would always go with Honda City. It only makes sense to get hycross in top spec variant which would be almost twice as expensive on road. Open to discussion 😀

I have driven my Hycorss 6k so far and car hasseries of issues . 1. Super hard suspension 2. driver left knee hits the center consol. Which results left knee pain.Poor thigh support. 3. Build Quality - the bonnet vibrates like paper every time when hits a pothole or speed breaker.4. I could hear even a whispering sound and Tyre noise from outside clearly. This seems an issue many other owners as well.

It is'nt about market but it is about profit margin what they get by selling these low grade (Innova, Etios, Yaris etc) cars hence they partner with Maruti Ltd for hatchback variants. There we pay 45L-50L for Fortuner ,whereas here we have Highlander Hybrid which starts from 42K - 55K USD(33L-44L as Ex-showroom price) as a MSRP; which is more Bigger, superior and comfortable 3 row SUV than Fortuner and eventually we pay as same as Fortuner. Camry Hybrid there would cost over 55L (with unwanted luxury pack) but here it would start with 29K-36K USD (LE, SE, XSE) where it constitutes 24L - 29L Ex-showroom price.

@@vinayjp6739 I think you should educate yourself about the taxes the Government places instead of yapping away like a donkey,Toyota earns 1 lakh only,yes only out of every fortuner sale and the showroom makes a lakh,the rest income is through spare parts,servicing and consumables.Its like Gilette,they earn more out of selling replacable blades than on the shaving razor stick.Please find out why in Dubai a foruner costs only 20-25 Lakhs.
