Hi Kate. I absolutely love my 2023 R, the quickshifter is as smooth as butter but it really comes into its own when you give it some. I have put bar end mirrors on and they have improved the looks. I was wondering that i may regret not getting the RS but I love the white. Yes deffo something not right with that quickshifter, maybe needs a reset, you definitely need to try it with it working. Thanks for the video 👌

Kate, when i test rode the R the other week, the QS was flawless, however when i rode the RS after, that was no way near as good and the blipper was useless. However now i have taken delivery of my own RS (Yellow thanks to you) i can confirm the QS is sublime and the blipper works ok. I do believe they learn though or adapt as they get used.

I love how the triple engine whistles ❤👍🏻.... Bought the new Street Triple R a few weeks ago and it's just a great bike with a fantastic value for money 😊. I also rode the RS, but these two bikes are not far apart on public roads ☝🏻. The QS on my Triumph Street Triple R is working absolutely great, best so far...

Hi Kate enjoyed the review, I deffo think it was a faulty quick shifter, and you said about the 10bhp difference between the RS and R, I believe it's only down to different mapping on the EFI system, so if you wanted the same power on the more road focused R that would be relatively cheap mapping to sort out, but if you like the bling RS all the way.

I have this bike and the quick shifter works perfect, it’s better than my tiger 900 quick shifter. Though come to think of it, I remember it took a while to get used to it on the R initially, but now it’s grand, maybe takes a few miles to get going. The tyres are brilliant in the wet, very assuring.

I have the RS Moto 2 and I find it great for daily riding - I look at 100 bhp bikes like the Aprilia RS 660 and even that level of bhp is plenty for the road. At 118 bhp the R will get the job done. As for the quick shifter - probably needs a cleaning and perhaps a reconfig. Had similar issues and this resolved the problem.

You can get a nearly new RS for £10500 anyway so no point getting the R is there ? Unless you want a brand new one which is a waste of money. I paid £15000 for a brand new RS 1200 and after one year it’s only worth £9600 so its value drops like a stone, even with 1800M ridden .

I think your review is good but you did keep comparing it to the RS and it’s a different bike for a different market. The quick shifter on my R has never given me trouble so I think it’s just that particular bike where you were having issues unfortunately. Also I find the quick shifter works much better when you’re giving it some and not riding at 50mph in gear 4 or 5 which you were doing for majority of the video. It’s meant to be ridden at the higher Rev range this bike and that’s where you’ll have the most fun :)

@@robertbieganski8143 Engine vibes felt through the seat, tank and pegs were something that very much surprised me on a test ride of the RS two weeks ago. The engine almost has a Jekyll and Hyde character to it. It’s extremely smooth until around 6000rpm, and then it becomes quite harsh and unrefined from then on in the rev range in my humble opinion. It was certainly a dealer breaker for me. I would seriously suggest a test ride before you hand over your cash.

The extra 10 HP comes over 11500 RPM Kate. Up to the point in the video you said you miss it, you had not gone anywhere near that RPM. You werent missing the HP, you could not possibly have felt it. This is self confirmation bias, you know the HP numbers of the bike and you convinced yourself you could feel it when in fact you absolutely did not. I appreciate your female perspective on feelings however, try not to speak garbage.
@UsernameKate

ok perhaps I didn't get my feelings out of the mouth in the correct way, a brain mouth disconnect but the RS sport mode in my opinion does feel a lot crispier and more responsive/urgent than the R and in my opinion, does subconsciously give you a feeling that the R is less powerful, less aggressive because of how they both feel in sport mode. I am working on trying to better put across my points in every future video I do :)
