I went for this exact bike, 1800 miles in and absolutely loving it, as a chap in his mid 50’s with 30yrs off a bike it’s more than enough for me. ABS, quick shifter & brakes are top notch & it fitted in with my £10k budget, love the looks and the performance is amazing, way more than enough for me.

I actually love the look of the dash on this bike. The TFT on the RS also looks good, but it seems like you can read the revs easier on this one. Great reviews of both models by the way, thanks 😀

Picking my R up on Saturday didn’t think I needed the spec of the RS as not going to be doing track days only Road. Just added lots of extras bar end mirrors heated grips tail tidy belly pan seat cowl Flyscreen 😉

I have the yellow RS and I had a 2018 R. It’s the best looking bike Ive ever owned. The new bike is better than my old R and that’s enough for me as I loved the old R. I think half of owning this type of bike is what it looks like and the colour choice with RS is just much better and that will make the decision for a lot of people. The red and yellow are both great. It’s not a bike for huge mileage and I find the RS suspension really nice. Yes it’s firm but it’s a sports naked so it’s what’s needed and it’s never harsh but you can dial the suspension to anything you like. The new R has the same front suspension as the old R (which isn’t the same as the RS) and the same rear as the old R and it will get out of shape easier if you are really pushing on in the twisty stuff. That’s not the case with the RS. If you love white bikes or silver then certainly look at the R as it’s good value.

Great even handed review Si👌🏻 Just bought the exact same bike (white) from Triumph Edinburgh today, traded in my Suzuki SV650x, I’m a new rider so didn’t need RS track spec tbh, quick shifter is so smooth and loved the feel and grip from the front end…gave plenty confidence leaning it into bends, can’t wait for delivery next month 😁👍🏻

I had a great time riding both bikes - fabulous machines. Finally went for the RS in cosmic yellow 💛 I’m 5,7 tall and found the extra 10 mm of seat height in the RS just perfect for me. Suspension and brakes are just amazing. t’s a very comfortable bike - feels great on the road as well.

My 2024 R white is being delivered on Tuesday. I went for the RS bar end mirrors and also changed the exhaust end tip to black! Plus tail tidy and belly pan 👌🏽😂

Glad I stumbled on your review as I was seriously thinking of getting the RS but you've convinced me the R would be better for my needs. I'm not interested in track days and it was reassuring that you found the R more stable on the road. I also prefer the display, tyres and mirrors on the R. Just a shame they don't offer a few more colours! With the £2k saving I can invest in some decent riding gear and a nice holiday 😊. Thanks

Nice. just rode the R myself yesterday and currently editing the footage, pretty much aligned with what you’ve said. i think at higher speeds the difference in quality of the rear shock is noticed in the mid stroke of the suspension but if you never did track days then the R model would be the one to have i think. Both great though and it really does depend if you like and want to pay for the extra bling, toys and gadgets. The R is circa £30/month cheaper with the same deposit which might swing it for some i think. Nice one Si. 🤘🏻😁😎

I just got my new RS last week, it's my third conscutive street triple, (an R and an RS previously) but it wasn't the Ohlins suspension or Brembo stylemas that swung me towards the RS, believe it or not it was for once being able to get a bright colour, cosmic yellow, it may sound silly to choose because of colour choice but that did it for me.

Great video. I went for the RS in the cosmic Yellow. More for the bling, dash and brakes, maybe our roads in Australia are different. But both models are fantastic. Keep up the great content.

Last year I bought a 2022 765 R. There was a 2020 RS with low miles that was nice and modded and still cost the price of a brand new RS. I only went with the R because I didn’t want my payments higher and I’m only riding on the road. There’s no tracks near me. I also like the display and old school tachometer vs the TFT. That being said, I’m happy with my R.

I test rode both but opted for the RS. The extra spec the RS has swayed me plus the nicer colours. IMO the RS is definitely more premium with a pusher ride. If it feels hard on the rear, I'm sure that can be dialled out, can't say I noticed though. My cosmic yellow one is due at the end of April, really looking forward to taking delivery 😊.

Just test drove the R today ! I went in for the RS but the waiting list is too long so I tried the R. I loved it. Your video was really useful and the final push I needed. I’m getting the R tomorrow! What a bike . Thanks for the great video

I also watch your video on the RS and contacted my local dealer who quoted me a somewhat exstended delivery so phoned round found their last one RS in Red !!! Never ridden a triumph Street Triple RS yet bought it on your enthusiastic review so if it turns out it's rubbish I'm blaming you🤔🤔🤔

I had a prev gen RS (and an older 675R) and now considering going back to the 765R over the RS as it’ll only be ridden on the road. Shame about the colours though - I love the yellow and the red on the RS models.

I’d take the R over the RS. I prefer the dash on the R and like you say it’s better suited to the road. If I did track days I’d defo go for the RS. Another great review Si.

Some amazing scenery

I’d still go RS, better suspension, TFT display and colours. Your close up shots of the paint work do it justice. I don’t like the white markings on the Tiger Sport display, looks naff.

I do indeed like the content! Perhaps some ride comparisons with Street Triple competitors would make a good video, say the Duke and or the MT09/XSR. Cheers

Good review . It looks a belter of a bike . Is it the perfect road bike ? Well for some folks , it will be . Others will be like me and require a fairing to tuck behind . But the engine size : power : weight seems to be in the sweet spot . Dare I say it , come on Triumph , build a Tiger 765 Sport [ with a 19" front wheel ] ? Preferably in time for Christmas ! 🤣

Great review, also watched your RS review. Correct me if im wrong, but i dont think the cosmic yellow which i think is a fantastic colour is available on the R. i will be using the bike in dry use only so the super corsa tyres also make more sense.

Annoying that Triumph only offer cruise control as an optional extra for the RS.

I’ll say no because you can’t add cruise control and if it’s gonna be a road bike it has to have cruise control race bikes don’t need cruise control! Plus I think the dash is much more better to read then the R the RS you can see so much better!

Love the R, as you say road-focused. My issue is the colors, don't like the white or the silver, the red and cosmic on the RS are lush, but the R in a similar black to the previous R would sleep in my garage nicely.
